The burley is earthy, woody, lightly toasty, nutty with a little molasses, and you’ll notice it to some extent most of the time. The black cavendish provides some sugar. The mild vanilla topping tones down the tobaccos a little. I get a sense of caramel which would come from a topping, too. The strength and taste levels are mild. Hardly has any nicotine; maybe it ran so it wouldn’t pay any taxes? Lightly moist, it burns at a reasonable pace, cool, clean, and even with a smooth, consistent flavor. Requires an average number of relights, and leaves just a little moisture in the bowl. Won’t bite or get harsh no matter how fast you puff. Has a pleasant, short lived after taste, and very pleasant room note. A tamer version of 1-Q in some ways and a lighter version of Sutliff Burley and Black in another, it’s a very mild, easy going all day smoke that might make a decent mixer, too, though it does suffer a little from a lack of richness.

Opening a fresh baggie of The Taxman Cometh, I was greeted with chocolate brown and black ribbons, with the brown dominating. It smelled of vanilla and cocoa, and it was moist but crisp. An unlit sip brought a light vanilla taste, and the initial light made the vanilla come through solidly. Overall this was a very straightforward aromatic; there is nothing fancy about this blend to me. The Cavendish taste dominates the light vanilla topping, and every so often there is a bit of nutty burley. This blend did not bite and probably could be smoked all day if someone was inclined. The finish was long and left a good mustache note and a pleasant room note. I wanted this blend to be more than it was, but if someone likes simple all day aromatics it may be worth a try.

Pipesandcigars.com - The Taxman Cometh (Russ' Monthly Blend).
Unlike a lot of vanilla aromatics which list black Cavendish as an ingredient it isn't a sticky black mixture. Most of the blend's brown and dark brown, with a lesser amount of black. The cut's coarse, it smells of sweet vanilla, and the hydration's good.
The tobaccos don't seem too 'sticky' or clumsy, which I expected from the appearance. Although the black Cavendish is present the rugged Burley keeps it from running amok. I get plenty of vanilla, but also a definite caramel-sweetness. This stays present throughout a bowl, although is 'louder' for the initial quarter. After this the vanilla makes it clear that the caramel is subordinate in comparison! I forgot to note the relights, which must mean they caused no issue! I'm yet to have even a 'peck' to my tongue.
Nicotine: a jot above mild. Room-note: I don't think it could bother anyone!!
The Taxman Cometh? A decent aromatic which deserves three stars:
Recommended.

This is a great blend for when I want an aromatic that isn't too sweet. It has the vanilla and caramel there, but it doesn't slap you in the face with sweetness. I can still enjoy the tobacco underneath the flavors. It is a bit like lane 1-q, and goes great in a pot shaped pipe bowl. I use the Morgan from Missouri meerschaum for this blend. All in a decent aromatic blend with a very nice aroma

This blend kind of reminds me of a slightly sweeter Lane 1Q. If you like 1Q, you will like this blend. Mildly sweet kind of like vanilla, all day smoke.
