Peretti Whiskey Cavendish
(1.67)
Here is a delightful cavendish blend. Mild and smooth and mellow, with a subtle flavor and aroma from curing with Kentucky Bourbon.

I ordered one ounce of this as a sample to try. When I opened it I was greeted by a wonderful "quality tobacco smell" with a hint of whiskey. I really cannot pin it down better than that. It was a bit moist so I packed it into an African block meerschaum and allowed it to dry overnight. I found I had packed it a tad tight but, with one vent hole, it lit right up and burned evenly despite my poor packing. For most of the bowl I really found this to be a decent smoke but nothing special. No real flavor of "whiskey" but not "bad." Certainly not worth the price point of LJ Peretti tobaccos to me, however. I did note that, if puffed hard, it could be a bit harsh and this is a tobacco which needs to be sipped. In the last few moments of the bowl some rather interesting flavors began to develop but did not last long enough for me to really explore. My conclusion is that, while I could see someone liking this, I will not be adding it to my cellar and I cannot recommend it.
