I love Peretti blends, each has a unique flavor and complexity.
No Name is certainly unique and wow is it ever aromatic. This is a burley based blend with some virginia in a granular cut presentation. The topping is not fruity nor is it of the vegetable variety. It is quite a unusual, almost perfumey. Packs easily, burns to the bottom, and is not goopey.
If you're the experimental type, give it a try

I love this crazy blend. It is intense and if you’re not in the mood for something that will knock your socks off, then don’t fill your pipe with it. I smoke mainly English in Balkan blends and this is a wild change of pace. It’s simply awesome for those moments I need new inspiration.

No Name
It’s Winter of 2024, and I needed to reorder Tashkent and Omega, my two favorite blends from LJ Peretti. I went to my first grad school in the Boston area and always love the accent, so I telephoned to place the order. After the main business at hand, I asked the guy if they had any ‘Lakeland’ blends. He paused and said, well yes, we have No Name. So I ordered one ounce.
I have tried Ennerdale Flake. I have tried Grousemoor. In these cases I was puzzled because I didn’t really get the soapy, perfumy notes that are described as Lakeland. Both were fine but not great, and again, I was puzzled as to why they would be considered aromatics.
No Name is different. It smells and tastes like perfumed soap. Using a pressed (not block) meerschaum to approximate true flavor (and to avoid potentially ghosting a briar), I discovered quickly that No Name is a brilliant accomplishment — a very good Lakeland — and that I do not like Lakeland aromatics.
No Name has a decent rating on TR but my review will only be #17, which is (in my view) an insufficient number of reviews or upvotes to base much of a recommendation. Still, I would say unreservedly, that if you like a Lakeland aromatic, then No Name should be on your list. It’s a stronger version than Ennerdale or Grousemoor, even if I don’t care for the genre.
The base tobacco is more Burley than Virginia and this plays well with the toppings which, as noted elsewhere in the limited number of reviews, are the star of the show here. The Burley structure feels rough to me, though, and not particularly pleasant.
I will give No Name 3 stars out of 4, and will seek for the pouch a new home.

I enjoy a good lakeland on the blue moon. I've never gotten the "soap" description often attributed to these blends, but certainly the perfume and incense notes. For me, it smells like an old perfume from the 1910s - think something that a second class passenger would have worn on the Titanic.
The smoke is pleasant and unmistakably burley based. I won't cellar any, but will buy a few ounces maybe once a year.

No name is becoming one of my favorite blends, I do like Lakeland type mixtures quite a bit. This Burley dominated mixture is a combination of Lakeland essence, a little rum, perhaps some deer tounge, roses, lemon verbena and a touch of Virginia. If you like 3 stars blue and mixture 79, I believe you will enjoy this mixture. It is in the same line only elevated to those fine Gawith blends. Not everyone’s cup of tea, for sure. No name is a traditional American blend, a blast from the past! Not too strong in nicotine but enough to scratch that itch for me. More than likely you will need a Lakeland dedicated pipe for this as it will permeated the bowl. 4 stars go me, only because I like these types.

Here’s a creamy burley with flavor. Yes, this tobacco has a, “floral” Lakeland aromatic. I would say the aromatic is more of an old barber shop aroma than it is floral. No bite, just creamy burley and…the essence. With all this going on one can still taste the burley. This is a strange tobacco blend, but in a good way. I would never have thought that the smell of this tobacco in the bag would produce such a

This is a very old school aromatic, meaning its nothing like contemporary aromatics. Im not sure the flavoring (Deer tongue, violette, rose, lavender, tonquin (tincture of musk I think), tonka bean, and maybe a form of anise..but possible quite a few others). This is what Peretti does and they do it splendidly. I find it hard not to give all their Burley blends 4 stars. They are the last of a kind and we should all be thankful. And by the by, their virginia flakes are excellent, too. Anyway, this is strong burley, some cavendish and va. But its a burely aro....old timey in approach. Nic hit is medium or more, and the burn is even and perfect. Peretti burley is unlike anything else out there.

This aromatic has a very strong perfume&soapy scent. Both pouch aroma and when smoked. It will leave a perfume ghost in a briar that lasts at least 3 or 4 bowls beyond initial smoking. As mentioned in other reviews: this is a flavor and style from a bygone era and I haven't smelled a similar type of smoke since I was a young boy back in the early 60's. If you are looking for something really different: give this one a try. The perfume smell reminds me of fabric softener dryer sheets and lingers long after the pipe is smoked. As an experiment, I mixed 1/2 ounce of Pipesandcigars.com "Butternut burley" with a couple pinches of noname and it was much less overpowering and more pleasant to my palate. So, I will probably be using my sample of noname as a burley mixing element rather than smoking it straight-up. It is worth getting an ounce or two just for the experience of tasting this type of aromatic even if you don't smoke it every day.
