The old Charatan Purple with the paper label on the top of the tin and made by Dunhill (reportedly) in the 1960s and 1970s, was not an all Virginia ready rubbed as indicated by the TRC description. My tin was purchased in 1983 and smoked in 1997 according to the notes from my tobacco log register and I noted a Virginia/Oriental mixture that burned cool and dry with a lot of depth to the Virginia and mild interplay from the Orientals. I rated tobacco on a scale of 1-10 back then and give this one an 8.
