Yes it is similar to the ubiquitous 1Q. However, I must respectfully disagree with the the reviewer who stated that this is, in fact, nothing more than peretti's name for the famous Lane bulk blend. In fact 432 is much superior in both quality of tobacco and flavor profile. 432 is a richer and creamier smoke with a slightly greater vanilla and coconut sweetness than 1Q without the artificial humectant quality. Indeed, the price is higher than you would ever pay for 1Q. However, I have smoked both in tandem and examined both. 432 is a very, very pleasant and relaxing smoke. Steve and the folks at Peretti's are some of the best tobacco blenders in the world. I smoke both English blends and some aromatics (BTW Peretti's Boston's Best Cavendish is tremendous) but always come back to 432. It also isn't just for new pipesmokers. It actually is okay to appreciate both heavy latakia blends, and, yes, even aromatics. There is much too much snobbery in our hobby...sadly

L.J. peretti 432 is a aromatic blend made of ribbon cut tobbaco with a flavorful taste. It is composed of coconut and vanilla and has a hint of Caramel and citrus with a touch of honey . It as a wonderful all day smoke to new as well as Veteran pipe smokers. Also it is different from 1Q and it's more complex and has more body and very very rich. Burns cool and very soft on the palate. I find that if your looking for a go to blend that want let you down and that is not your run of the mill bland aromatics then this is a blend to try. Leaves a Beautiful room note also and has alot of flavor that you will enjoy. The Men at L.J. Peretti know there blends and I have ordered this blend to keep in my rotation. Remember to smoke it slow as with most aromatics it will bite you a little. It is very rich and creamy and it will please you and those who are around you . A blend for everyone and you will not be disappointed.

I have to say I love this tobacco. Though I mostly smoke English blends, this blend is in my regular rotation and I smoke it at least twice a week.

I have to strongly disagree with those that claim this is nothing more than Lane 1Q. This is a far superior tobacco. I have smoked both side by side in comparison, in the same pipe, a Merchant Service Standard Bing, and the taste and room note of the Peretti\'s blend is much more tobacco forward with the toppings simply acting as a compliment to this fine tobacco.

Per Todd Brugman at LJ Peretti "it’s absolutely not 1Q, and there is no 1Q in it. It is blended from scratch. I would say it is in the same sub genre of aromatic Cavendish as 1Q, but much more complex.
Blend 432 has strong notes of coconut, fruit, chocolate, and rum…. Bottom line, I assure you, 100%, there is no 1Q in 432. If anyone has any questions, they can call the shop, asked to speak to Steve, and he will clarify.
We are the oldest tobacco blender in the country, older than any brand. We are also the only shop that still blends from scratch on premise."

There is a synergy to this tobacco that for me, makes it superior to any other Cavendish or aromatic tobacco I've had. I literally buy this by the pound. Some days it's all I smoke from morning to night.

Beautiful mild blend… this is high quality tobacco, smooth, cool, polished. The flavors are subtle, creamy and clean. I can’t find any specific flavor or sweetness, but it’s clearly a refined and carefully crafted taste. It came perfectly humidified, and packs and lights well. This is an all day smoke for beginner to veteran piper.

This is a pleasant vanilla and coconut aromatic. It burns well. Leaves a wonderful room note. My buddy and I agree that it is a step up from 1Q, and has more of a light coconut note to it.

On a side note, the Peretti employee who answered the phone was well-informed and helpful. So I bought more of their blends (which I will review in the upcoming month).
