I was sent a sample of this when I ordered some tobacco online. I generally smoke English blends, but enjoy a nice, smooth aromatic from time to time. This one was anything but smooth, however. I found it to bite beyond what I could tolerate, and I didn?t find any of the nice honey flavor from the tin making it into the taste when smoking. Hardcore Danish aromatic fans might enjoy it, but I don?t think I?ll be going back for any more.

The slogan on this tin is "smoked by all shrewd judges". Well, this is certainly a balanced tobacco. I can detect the honeydew sweetness, but it is mild and is balanced out by the burley. This blend does smoke a bit hot, but if you respect it and don't puff too fast, you should have no problem with tongue bite. It is a pleasing blend that will not leave after notes in your best briars and it does produce a very pleasant room note for the wife.
I want to again emphasize that this blend, while containing a little sweetness, is not overwhelming. Think of the mild sweetness of the honeydew melon, not maple syrup.

This review may not be fair since the new tin was received with the vacuum seal broken. This was a first for me. However, the tobacco was not too dry especially after I added a humidifier for several days. Smokes slightly hot for my taste and I don't really sense the honey taste or aroma. Rubbed out evenly as advertised but I prefer flakes so that I can adjust my packing to various pipes and anticipated smoking conditions. I would choose their Golden Slices based on this and taste.

When your sweet tooth kicks in this is one to try. It isn't sticky sweet, just gives a little pizzazz to the palate. I felt no tongue-bite at all even after repeated bowls. Very satisfying smoke even if your sweet tooth isn't talkin' to you. I just like it for an anytime bowl. Good stuff.
