Don't know what has been going on with Hearth&Home and Sutliff lately, but it seems some of their products have hit a lull. Just got this in the mail about a week ago. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. This blend starts out good upon light up, but midway down the bowl I get an awful spicy and overbearing leather taste. And you guessed it, my palate is dying from leather tongue. Also my tin reeked of rubber tires, which drowned out any sweet or hay notes from the Virginias. The Burleys sizzle and clash with the Latakia. Dark Kentucky Burleys, perhaps. If so, it just doesn't work with the Latakia. May not be a full throttle English smoker, but I know good blending from bad. If you like non-sweet, spicy strong English blends you might dig this. IMHO, Frog Morton On the Town and Newminster English Luxury #17 blends are far superior in taste, sweetness, quality of leaf used and finally balance of components. I've been seeing a trend here with H&H and Sutliff: they overpower their blends with leaf that doesn't fit the mixture or the tobacco lacks flavor and sweetness. Even cardboard has more character to offer than this. LOM could have been so much better. Hate to say it, but I can only give this one star. Flat and Flavorless, should be renamed a Lord with No Manners.
