Smoke King Avro Mixture
(4.00)
A medium English mixture designed to be an all day smoke. Starting with dark and bright Virginias blended together, no English mixture is complete without latakia and Turkish leaf to provide spiciness and that smokey flavour. An excellent introduction for those trying Oriental tobaccos for the first time, proving there is more to life than aromatics.

Smoke King - Avro Mixture.
Having tried a few of the Smoke King blends I feel excited as they have been sure to impress me every time! The aroma from the blend is a very full Latakia one, with the Lat' taking the forefront and the Virginia giving its hay note subtly. I can't complain of it being too damp or too dry, it is perfect in that sector! On appearance it looks quite an even mix of the tobaccos, there seems to be an equal amount of each. I get my pipe filled and eagerly bring in the flame and right from the outset, as I found with their other blends, it proves that just because they aren't a tobacco giant they still have the right to hold their heads high!
It takes to the flame with only a short touch of it and then once lit it burns steadily, even and cool. The flavour is, like the appearance, an even split. By no means would this validate any Lat' bomb suspicions. The Latakia can be easily identified but it doesn't swamp the taste by being overly smoky, in fact the Virginia can also take some credit for enhancing the taste with its lovely grassy tone. Tongue bite now, not one occurrence from beginning to end! The nicotine in Avro is another good point, satisfying but not too much and easily inhaled. The room-note is quite stereotypical for the ingredients, but not that heavy so the paradox is you could enjoy this around 'room note haters'!
This blend is a real pleasure, if you live in the U.K I vehemently implore you to get some, brilliant!
Four stars.

Nice one here, Steve. Thanks.
A wonderfully spicy English. The Lat is smoky, woody and mildly spicy. The Orientals are a little sour and very spicy with nice notes of wood and butter. The Virginias offer ample sweetness with some hay and fruit. Overall, a rock solid flavor profile. Has a cool consistent burn. This is a great smoke.
Mild to medium in body. Medium in taste. No added flavoring.
