McCranie's Dundee's Blend
(3.00)
The sweetness and zest of a fine Matured Virginia with the aroma, softness and rich flavor of an Oriental blend. Aging this blend of Matured Virginias, Xanthi and Latakia in cakes develops a degree of smoothness and rich flavor that is refined, not heavy

This is a truly unique and delicious tobacco. Very robust without any bite. It has a very complex taste and aroma. Very hard to pin down. Not as spicey as Murdock's Pipe, somehow mellower and more woodsy. Darker and richer. At the same time there is just a hint of sweetness.
For me this is a great change of pace tobacco when you want something really deep. It is like dark chocolate. You do not want it as an entre, but wow what a dessert. I just wish that it came in a tin.

I'll go along with the fact that this is another nice, unique blend from McCranie's Pipe Shop. Dundee's Blend didn't toast my teters in the strength department, but then, most Latakia laden blends are milder in strength. The Virginia leaf certainly held my attention, and the Oriental leaf did too.
For a bulk, this isn't bad stuff.

Another winner from McCranie's.
This is a predominantly Virginia blend. There is some Latakia, but it seems quite subdued. The Xanthi seems to pair up with the Virginia and create a nice flavor that's both light and tasty. The Latakia isn't heavy at all.
I choose to rub Dundee's Blend out fully. I find it easier to pack that way. It stays lit very easily, and left the bowl dry. A fine white-gray ash was all that was left.
Perfect for the VA smoker that likes a bit of Latakia that isn't overdone. And you just can't go wrong ordering from McCranie's.
