Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) C'est La Vie
(2.52)
C’est La Vie means “It's the life!”, and this smooth and satisfying, richly aromatic blend will definitely bring your taste buds to life. Made mostly of the finest flue-cured tobaccos, it is gently pressed and cut in the traditional cavendish method. This process infuses the leaf with a richly sweet and creamy note of French vanilla flavor. Even though the enrapturing aroma will fill the room, the taste is remarkably subtle, and it’s wonderfully easy on the tongue. Take yourself on an intriguing Parisian vacation with the goodness of C’est La Vie.

This is a decent smoke. It isn't bad, it isn't mind-blowing. It packs well, smokes cool, and tastes decent. I have yet to taste any vanilla in it though. It's a good tobacco to keep in the car or in the workshop, but it certainly isn't anything I'd keep in my rotation on purpose.

This is a mild blend from the folks at STG. The vanilla topping does not overpower. I get good tobacco flavor from this. Not too moist from the pouch. Loads and lights easily. Smooth, creamy smoke and flavor. The room note is very nice. A keeper in my rotation.

I like "C'est la Vie" for pretty much the same reasons as other commentators dislike it. Smoking for smell not taste, I appreciate the lack of a syrupy sweet vanilla sludge taste. Non-smokers around compliment the gentle vanilla aroma, and I like the fact that it does not permanently infuse curtains, car or clothing with a heavy after-smell. The cut and extra little bit of humidity means that, for me, it smokes smoothly to the bottom of the bowl into a fine powder so that there is hardly any ash to fuss with. I was looking for a light gentle-on-the-tongue tobacco similar to the Golden Blend Vanilla that I get in France, and C'est la Vie fits the bill perfectly.
