McClelland No. 610 Caramel
(2.60)
A medium mixture of lemon ribbon, broken Burley-Virginia Cavendish and Special Black. A slow burning, satisfying smoke that will appeal especially to those who enjoy the caramel flavor and aroma of a rich cavendish mixture.

McClelland- No. 610 Caramel.
As you can see from the picture fine ribbons account for most of the blend but 610 includes more than a few coarser pieces. I've had this about five months and in that time it's achieved decent hydration in the loose pouch.
The smoke: a simple, sweet, mainly Virginia/Burley Cavendish one. Sticky, heavy, black Cavendish gives hardly any flavour in comparison. As I suspected from the unlit aroma the caramel's easy to identify. The burn's a little lower than medium in temperature and I get zero tongue bite.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: nice.
No. 610? A pleasant aromatic without much Black Cavendish gloop. Three stars:
Recommended.

On it's own, this tobacco isn't one that will make you want more. It's really not worth the price...
BUT: Add 1 part 610, 1 part Stokkebye Natural and 3 parts 1Q and you have a delicious smoke that can easily become your mainstay.
Recommended in the blend described, but not so much on it's own.
The blend comes out to only $19 a pound at present prices, so that's right at $2.11 per 50 grams.... not bad... I call that synergy!

This mild blend starts subtle, but progresses throughout the bowl with a definite caramel note. Candy without the calories!Excellent room presense; a favorite with the ladies. Reasonably cool for an aromatic.
