Full, rich and dark, heavy with fragrant latakia, spiced with premium Macedonian tobaccos. Lightly sweetened with matured Virginias, this distinguished Oriental mixture is slow burning and cool smoking. It offers richness and depth plus unparalleled smoothness and refinement.

I love this stuff !!! Scored 8 x 100g tins at an estate liquidation, all dated 1999. When my stash runs out, what are my options for substitution ? I guess this is less of a review, and more a question for the board. Thanks in advance.

Pungent aroma in the can, reminded me of smokeless tobacco with a raisin quality. A bit on the dry side but it shined on taste once lit. Smooth with no tongue bite.

Just got this in! Wow, while opening the beautiful tin I found marvelously blended ribbon cut VAs with great amount of Black Latakia Leaf. Smell out of tin is fantastic. Pure campfire delight with a sweet touch of VAs. Lighting needed 3 or 4 strokes , but then it burnt down like a charm. Tasty and aromatic latakia and orientals melt together with a nice VA sweetness . Gets spicier along the bottom of the bowl. No tongue bite. Awesome blend. McCleland rules.

The tin note of this is just wonderful. I could just sniff the tin and get the same sort of reaction as to smelling bacon cooked outdoors. Which is to say, mouth watering.
More latakia flavoring than the FrogMortons, although I love plain old FrogMorton.
Yes, McC can do latakia mixtures well.

Smooth, dark mixture.
It brings a different kind of taste for an English mixture.
I am not sure that I would smoke it regularly but it still proved interesting.

This is my morning pipe tobacco, smoked with a cup of coffee after breakfast; really good when swallowed and puffed through the nose. Kind of like eating a dark chocolate.

This is an excellent English blend, very well blended with Latakia and oriental tobacco, small size bowl and very slow puffung works best for this blend.
try BW if you like high quality English blends.

This blend is dark, rich, and creamy. The smokey flavor has a subtle sweetness that works so beautifully together. This was my first foray into English blends, and definitely won't be my last. I like this blend so much I shelled out about a hundred bucks on different english and balkan blends. All of them are wonderful, but she will always be my first. 9.75 out of 10.

This is delicious. Smells a bit sharp in the tin (surprise surprise), but in the pipe this is wonderful medium english. Smooth, sweet, robust... just a lovely blend. I could forget a lot of other classics for this tin.
