The only tobacco I taste is a little nuttiness from the burley. The toppings are hazelnut, raspberry, and something else that I can't identify. Has little nicotine. Doesn't bite, but can burn a little warm if you are a fast puffer. Burns just a little slow with a consistent flavor. It's a little syrupy at times. Even with dry time, it can burn moist and leave a little dottle. You'll always have to wipe the bowl out after a smoke. An all day smoke.

I tried this blend recently to compare it to a Lord of the Rings type blend that I had heard quite a bit about. Just for hte record, I believe they are one and the same.
RHQ-3 can, of course, be found under a plethora of names in bulk. It's pretty much as I expected, and just as described. It is a cool smoke if you don't rush it. There is no real tobacco flavor, and the nutty - berry flavoring can be enjoyable, if the bowl is small enough. The taste never changes, and it has a definite tendency to get a bit bitter toward the end of the bowl.
Since it is heavily saturated with humecants (sp?) the end of the bowl isn't much of a concern anyway - it's going to be goopy and wet.
Load it up, smoke maybe a third, and when you're bored with it, toss the rest. Dry the pipe for a month or so...

This is the second Lane bulk tobacco I smoked, 1Q was the first. I am not impressed. It smokes a bit hot, and it has some bite, but at least it's not quite as moist as 1Q. It has a nice scent in the baggy. It seems to have a slight ghost of flavor where 1Q had none. I can only label this as "inoffensive". But what a disappointment that that's the most positive characteristic of a tobacco! Cheap, but not worth the time. Not recommended.
