Out of the four Brigadier Black blends that I've tried (Waterloo, Bull Run, Alamo, and Gettysburg), this one sits pretty much in the middle in terms of likeness.
The pouch note is of creamy peach, vanilla and honey. For those who tried Cornell & Diehl's 'Apricots & Cream', this one is similar, but milder in body and definitely a lot more approachable. And yes, I know that peaches and apricots are different fruits, but they tasted similarly in my pipe.
Smoking notes are in the neighborhood of many other similar blends. It's a generic semi-chemical but overall pleasant peach/vanilla/honey blend.
It is easy to deal with, mechanically. Easy to pack and draw. Cut could've been just a drop more fine to help with the smoking. The flavor maintains itself pretty well. Unlike C&D's apricot blend, this one is not very moist at all. Smokes in an average pace, can be an all-day smoke. No tongue bite for me.
Very light in body and strength. Not complex at all. Just an ordinary nice aromatic.
To sum, there's absolutely nothing exceptional about this blend. It's just ok. Without a doubt, Bull Run was my favorite of the line. Gettysburg is more similar to Alamo, just ok. Won't buy again.
