Lane Limited 1-Q
(2.78)
Basically a golden cavendish blend but with a hint of fire-cured blended in provides scintillating taste and flavorful aroma.
Notes: Despite confusion caused by persistent rumor, 1-Q is a Lane product and a Lane invention, sold by many brick and mortar shops under many names, including 'Wilshire' by the TinderBox stores.

My son and I went into Tinderbox a couple years ago and incountered the very very pleasant aroma of Wilshire. This is rare for me to really like an aroma enough to purchase an ounce or so. I normally stay clear of "candy smelling" tobaccos but this one got me.
Upon getting home and lighting up, Wilshire was smooth but the taste could not match the smell. After some trial runs, I gave the rest away. It did not have enough to it to keep my interest.
A very good beginner smoke.

Like every other young kid who wanders into a pipe shop, I've smoked my share of 1-Q. (Luckily, that share was not large.) 1-Q smells good either in the pouch or as smoked. That's this tobacco's strong suit. It doesn't burn particularly well and leaves a fair amount of goop in the pipe. This is probably OK for beginners, but even there, certainly there are better choices. (Pease Barbary Coast for one, Mac Baren Navy Flake for another.)

On eof the tobaccos that got me started as a pipe smoker . Highly recommended for the beginner smoker or lover of aromatics . Can become wet and goopy , but that goes with the territory . Good for smoking in public .

Currently my personal favorite, Wilshire is one of the least biting aromatics out there. Flavor-wise it has a hint of chocolate when you first light up. It's also one of the tobaccos that definitely tastes better than it smells out of the pouch. From a second hand impression, it has a slightly nutty chocolate smell. It's a big hit here. Wilshire is a ribbon cut that smokes long and easy. Highly recommended.
