While I prefer Blue, Gold is tasty. That said, I did have to learn how to smoke this. If puffed quickly, this will get hot (so will Blue). Taking the time to puff slowly and gently, (as pipe smokers are supposed to do) it is actually good.
I also found that it can be tamed during one's training period that my Savinelli filter halped tame things a bit. Now I don't use the filter.
Developing the slow puffing habit pays off with other tobaccos.
