This interesting blend produced in a traditional English way convinces by it's unique character. The tobacco is traditionally pressed, cut and roasted and processed in a sophisticated manner. It's blended with Oriental, Louisiana perique, the finest latakia and aromatic Virginia tobaccos which make this blend a classic experience of English style. An exquisite tobacco for friends of handmade flakes.

John Aylesbury - Own Mixture (English Classic).
Another from my friend Gentleman Zombie, many thanks pal!
Quite a well rubbed flake, there's lots of medium size ribbons. I'm not sure about the moisture as even though Franck sent me some John Aylesbury blends in zip-lock bags, this one's still a bit too moist; that leads me to believe a sealed tin must be saturated as it's been out of it for a while! It's still a very good smoke, though.
The smoke has quite a high proportion of Perique and Oriental's. There's a subdued smokiness from the Latakia, with lot's of dark fruit and sweet-and-sour; it tastes a lot more up-beat than I'd expected. The Virginia gives more sweetness than just grass/hay. The only problem I get is tongue bite; it needs sipping to be kept in order!
The nicotine's medium, and the room-note's pleasant.
A great smoke, highly recommended:
Four stars.

The Lat and Orientals lead with nearly equal influence. They provide smoky, woody, sour and buttery notes that are very pleasing. The Virginias and Perique also have near equal influence providing sweet, spicy, fruity notes that form a very firm backdrop. The two "blocks" of flavor work harmoniously together to create a very nice English that I could almost call a Balkan instead. It's a wonderful smoke.
Medium in body. Medium to full in taste. No added flavorings. Burns very well.

Excellent smoke right out of the tin. Cool burning and very tasty. My wife commented that the room smelled great. I couldn't smell anything but I'm nose blind. I would highly recommend this tobacco if you enjoy English blends.
