The Virginias provide light grass, some tar and tangy citrus, a couple of pinch of sugar, and a very light floral hit. They are the lead components. The burley is nutty, earthy, woody, and lightly molasses sweet as a supporting player. The black cavendish offers small sugar notes. The black cherry topping moderately sublimates the tobaccos, though it weakens a tad in the last third of the bowl. The strength is a step short of the center of mild to medium. The taste is in the center of mild to medium. Has a very mild nic-hit. Won’t bite or get harsh, and barely has any rough edges. It needs a light dry time. Burns cool and clean at a lightly slow rate with a mostly smooth, inconsistent, sweet flavor. Leaves some moisture in the bowl, so keep a pipe cleaner handy. Requires some relights as the tobacco is fairly moist. Has a short lived, very pleasant after taste, and room note. Three stars for the flavor, two stars for the wet burn. Two and a half stars overall.
