Cup O' Joes
Very Cherry uses a great blend of excellent tobaccos- mellow Burley, sweet and tangy Virginia and a bit of mildly sweet steamed black Cavendish, and is finished with an amazingly rich cherry flavor and aroma. This is one that no one will object to.

A strong tart and tangy, lightly acrid, syrupy cherry flavor is the only reason to smoke this. If you've been disappointed by light cherry blends, this may work for you. There's not much tobacco taste outside of a little grass and slight nutty note from the Virginia and burley, but if you like how this performs, you won't care. The black cavendish provides a light sugariness. The strength and taste levels are medium. Has almost no nicotine. It burns a tad fast, so you should sip this one to avoid harshness or possible tongue bite. Leaves some moisture in the bowl at the finish. Requires an average number of relights. Not really an all day smoke due to the depth of flavor, which is very consistent all the way through.

If you're looking for that special sweet cherry blend then pick up an ounce or two of this offering from Lane Limited.
It's a nice combination of Black Cavendish, Burley, and Virginia leaf with a rather obvious sweet cherry top dressing to it.
As soon as you open the jar or pouch you'll instantly notice the candy cherry aroma. They weren't stingy with the flavoring on this blend.
It does come a bit on the moist side, so I'd advise packing the bowl and letting it sit about ten or fifteen minutes before smoking it.
After the ten or fifteen minutes it takes the light wonderfully. You're greeted right away with that obvious candy cherry flavoring. After the initial light up it softens up a bit. It's still obvious you're smoking a cherry flavored blend, but from time to time the tobacco flavors to peek their head out momentarily.
It does leave the bowl a bit moist, but I enjoy the flavor enough to not mind it.
Because of all the top dressing on the blend it will burn a bit warmer. If you keep a good pace though it shouldn't bite you. It hasn't bitten me yet.

As I continue my relentless search for a decent cherry aromatic, one that doesn't stick to your fingers or give an instant headache from unpronounceable chemical additives, this came up. Lane Very Cherry is definitely better than some pouch OTC cherry Burley blends. It is mild, the room note is very nice and I did not notice any bite or relight problems, worth giving it a try.

Very Cherry smells wonderful if you like cherry tobacco. I did not get a chemical cherry smell but a rather sweet tantalizing cherry smell. If smoked slow the sweetness can be tasted all the way threw the bowl top to bottom. This has a great room note. So if you like aromatics give it a shot you wont be disappointed.

Spent some time this summer trying numerous cherry blends and came across this one. Only had a few ounces to try and I am honestly glad I only had a few ounces. Upon opening it the smell seemed very inviting. That's pretty much the good on this one. Not a cherry blend at its finest IMHO. I found it somewhat disappointing without anything particularly enjoyable about it - neither the cherry flavor nor the tobacco flavor pulling through. This one I can say was not enjoyable on any front when smoking. I'm usually a little generous when rating aromatics to consider taste differences, but not with this one. There are plenty of others to try out if you are looking for something cherry to enjoy. Tried it with various pipes with marginal differences. If your looking for a couple really good cherry flavored blends I'd recommend Peter Stokkebye Cherry Bon Bon and Cult Blood Red Moon. Two totally different smokes but excellent in their own right.

Smoking now.
I smoked a few bowls of this over my short pipe smoking career. Smells of sweet cherry candy syrup.
Almost no tobacco taste that I can tell. If I didn’t know I couldn’t tell you if it was a virgina, burley, just a lite hint of cherry on the back end. It’s a “zesty cherry” more than a black cherry. It’s an easy smoke to have with a coke or whiskey. Leaves little after taste. Can bite smoke slow be careful.
If you want a zesty cherry tasting tobacco then give it a shot. You’ll taste the cherry and little else. The only reason why I would give this 2 stars. Now… cut this with some Granger or a basic non aromatic and you might have a good time.
Room note though … it’s very Cherry and very good.

I'm new to pipe smoking and wanted to give a cherry aromatic a try. The first cherry aromatic I tried was a drug store brand and I didn't enjoy it. (No doubt due to my inexperience with pipe smoking at the time). This blend is VERY CHERRY. I did enjoy the smoke greatly (and I look forward to my next bowl) but there's not a lot of sophistication here. If you're looking for a strong cherry flavor or looking for a way to add a cherry note to one of your own blends, then you won't be disappointed with this blend.

Lane Limited - Very Cherry.
When the mood takes me for an aromatic often as not I choose vanilla or cherry. So, Very Cherry? Here we go!
A coarse ribbon that includes a fair few large 'leafy' pieces, the fresh pouch's moisture was good to start with, black Cavendish accounts for the least of the blend, and the smell? Whoa! Exactly as the name implies: VERY cherry!
The only taste I get is a tremendously strong cherry one: very sweet and very false! I must say, I don't find it too bad a flavour; every now and then I enjoy a 'proper' aromatic, and there's no arguing whether or not this is a flavoured blend! Now on to the tobacco tastes: a moot point as there's none. The burn's good: quite cool giving a bite free smoke.
The room-note's nice, and the nicotine's mild.
Very Cherry? I'll recommend this, to those who want a 'STRONG' aromatic!
Three stars

Went with my son today to JR'S and picked up an ounce of this. My boy just had to smell it and then egg me on to try it. Cherry is not my favorite. At 2.10 an ounce I can power through it. Smell is like a cherry slurpie from 7 - 11. Packed it in a new cobb that I just bought. Did not want to destroy one of my good pipes. Packed It Half Full And Gave It A light. First draw I about died. Gee whiz. Casing here is so strong. Packed it down and relit for a full smoke. By all the gods I tried to like this. It was wet. It smelled to high heaven and after five minutes I was ready to quit. Grabbed a 7 up and drank it down to power through the last of it. Flavor was light. Sweet and never got a real cherry taste. I could not see this in my rotation ever. So it will go to pipe club for the brave of the young.

I pretty much echo the comments of Jiminks on this one. For some inexplicable reason I bought a half pound of this thinking from the jar aroma that it would be good. Not being an aromatic smoker cherry blends have nonetheless tempted me since trying my cousin's Paladin Black Cherry back in '66.
This is very hard to taste anything tobacco-wise; it is so heavily topped with a very artificially tasting cherry flavor. The flavoring is so intense that I found I needed to keep the Mason jar containing this segregated from all my other jars and inside a tightly sealed metal can as well. I eventually traded the entire remainder away.

The smell upon opening is cherry but it reminds me a little of the cherry flavored cough med. the kids take. It is a newly purchased 2oz. bulk tested and it is very moist. Drying time 20 min. to get it right. Takes a light very easily. Taste is cherry, at times the med. flavor comes through but this is most often found on the light and subsequent relights. Most of the time it is sweet cherry and what reminds me of cinnamon. The VA's do form a nice base that are tasted too but it is primarily the cherry casing that is tasted. It does bite a little even when sipping slowly but not too bad. It can be smoked once a day without trouble but I have found it should be the last pipe of the day to avoid compounding the bite. Room note is Okay and is quickly lost, something that non-smokers seem to like. Still this will not be a go to aromatic but if you are into cherry aromatics, this could be your blend. It just missed for me but then again, I am not an aromatic smoker. I do keep a few oz. around to smoke around the wife and this will work fine for that but I am still looking for that great aromatic blend for that purpose.

As a fan of aromatics, I cannot in good faith recommend this one to anyone who's a fan of aromatics. The tin note is very sweet, but artificial. The taste is similar. I suppose if and only if you enjoy artificially flavored pipe tobacco it will work for you, as you won't get much, if at all, tobacco taste out of this one in any sense.

I bought an ounce of this fruity snack to mix up a batch of Hobbit's Weed. Normally I shy away from cherry based products, and since this is VERY cherry, I wasn't sure of the wisdom of smoking it straight. The bag certainly gave off enough cherry vapor to soothe one's throat if used as a lozenge. I dug up an old pipe, in fear of the ghost, and got ready to eat a balanced diet of fruit with my meal.
For how pungent it was, I was surprised by the lack of sticky toppings (found in Aromatics like Cult's Blood Red Moon) and it's ready to fire dry leaf. As far as the quality of the Cavendish or Burly, who knows, they are just vehicles to deliver cherry juice, since that is strictly all you taste, and pure cherry it is! For a flavoring, it is quite spot on without any chemical or "fake" taste. Mild on the tongue and nicotine, with a no fuss performance, you will be puffing like Grandpa in no time.
Likely the best cherry product I've encountered, a pure cherry Aromatic done right. It also works well as a mixing agent if you want to dial back the fruit and add some other characteristics to the smoke.

After searching for and trying several bulk cherry blend, I landed on this one. It's become my go-to cherry blend. It's a little bit moist, but burns well without an excessive number of relights. They didn't hold back on the cherry topping, which I'm OK with.
I smoke it in a couple of Grabows and always use a filter when I'm burning this tobacco. I absolutely never feel guilty about smoking this one in my home, either. It's delicious with a cup of coffee after dinner. Or lunch. Or, as a "good morning" pipe. And, few people will complain about the room note.
I like a lot of different tobaccos, but I'm not ashamed to say that I love Very Cherry. I keep about a pound of it on my shell, a pouch full of it when I'm on the road, and enjoy every bowl.

Of the three Cherry Aro blends I bought to make the chicks at camp happy, this one is the drinking blend. The mouth feel of the Cavendish blends just don't do it for me when I am in my cups. This blend has the Virginia to really brighten things up and keep the mouth feeling crisp instead of silky and 'coated' as well as the nutty tobacco taste and higher Nic-Kick that Burley lends. The topping in this one is a super bright candy flavour. Think Luden's Wild Cherry Throat Lozenges. That is the exact match. All and all, it is a crowd pleaser and a little less boring than other Aromatics I've tried. Definitely recommend this blend to any non-aro smoker who wants a bit of cherry. in their pipe-diet.

As a new pipe smoker, I'm constantly searching for a tasty tobacco blend. Unlike other aromatic tobaccos I've tried, Very Cherry has a distinctive cherry flavor, which complements the taste of the burley and virginia tobaccos perfectly. The room note smells of cherries with a hint of tobacco in the background. It packs well, lights well, stays lit and tastes good; It's a simple, tasty smoke that could be an all-day smoke for some people. Try this if you like aromatics.

Jar note of cherries, spices and vegetation. Tobacco is a ribbon cut of brown, light brown and a tiny amount of black. Moisture content is ok, most will want to dry it a bit. Burns moderate with a few relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is medium, with notes of sugared cherries, both drop to the background just past the 1/2 way point where they remain. Taste is mild to medium and very consistent, with notes of cherries, brown sugar, wood, spices, grassy, citrus, nuts, dry, acidic, orange peel/zest, hay, savory, tangy, mildly bitter, a sweet bread background note, and a smooth retro. Flavoring leads most of the bowl, trading off with the Virginias in the last 1/3. Black Cavendish and Burley is supporting. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is ok.

The name Very Cherry couldn't be more fitting. This has an intense, and I mean intense pouch aroma. I see a lot of reviews saying this smells artificial. Of course it does. Real cherries don't smell anything like any cherry flavoring.
The appearance seems to be a mostly Burley and Virginia. The cavendish makes up very little of this. This blend is at a great moisture level to smoke on arrival. Packs with a lot of spring, so it will need a few light and tamps.
You can actually taste the cherry through the smoke. The natural sweetness of the cavendish paired with the creamy mouthfeel of the burley really make this a solid aromatic. This also makes a great tobacco to mix 50/50 with BCA to create the Hobbit's Weed of yesterday.

This is a Ludens Cough drop in smokeable form. If that is what you are after then Congratulations!!! You have found your tobacco.
Pretty consistent cherry syrup flavor all the way through the bowl. Very occasionally I will get a little nuttiness from the burly but it is otherwise cherry. This is not an unpleasant smoke; just too much of a good thing for my tastebuds.
Room note is phenomenal. Burns decently with no excessive relights once you get it going.
If you don’t want the full force of the cherry this would be a great tobacco to blend with some other stuff….I am working on the proportions for a mix with Sutliff Vanilla Custard, plain black cavendish and some Carter Hall.
This tobacco accomplishes what it sets out to do…be a very strong cherry aromatic. For that and it’s potential to be a great blending component I give it two and a half stars.

Bulk purchase. Arrives wet and needs some dry time but you don't want it too dry or you will lose some flavor. Bag note of sweet cherry and nothing else. Lights very well and stays lit with minimal relights. Lots of cherry flavor and some nutty burley. I find the body quite creamy and I like that. The flavor stays consistent and burns at a good pace if you have a gentle cadence. This is a good smoke if you want a sweet and creamy aromatic. Smoke slow, this will bite. No noticeable nic hit

This is all about the CHERRY! In the jar I just get tons of cherry, no tobacco, sort of that fake cherry smell. It reminds me of Ludens cough drops from when I was a kid. Upon first light, its, you guessed it cherry. Some nuttiness from the burly does start to show through, once I started smoking. Almost an amaretto type nuttiness that was very pleasant. I noticed a slight bite if puffed to quickly, so puff at a slow to reasonable pace, to prevent tongue bite. The room note is a very pleasant cherry aroma. This could be a nice after a meal, dessert type smoke. My wife does like the smell of this one, so that is a plus. I do enjoy aromatics, but I would say this one is not at the top of the list for me. But if you enjoy all things cherry, give it a try.
