Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation 1957

(3.25)
Bright Virginias, light brown burleys and a touch of black cavendish combined to create perfect harmony in this blend. A naturally sweet tasting blend, the soft, creamy vanilla adds to the elegant room notes. Perfect for a relaxing moment any time of the day.
Notes: As the 4th Generation tobacconist in the Stokkebye family, Erik's personal favorite is the 1957 blend.

Not a bother to keep lit. Soft, creamy, vanilla. Not much bite. Great flavor, toasty/savory? I have enjoyed it both after dinner or relaxing in the middle of a humid summer afternoon. Halfway through the tin now. Getting more. Easily one of my favorites.

A well balanced mixture, not too mild but not too strong, which would satisfy both the smoker looking for an aromatic and the smoker not too keen about aromatic mixtures.

The vanilla addition is quiet, not disturbing and brings a nice expperience. A bit expensive but worth trying.

Right from the opening of the tin, a wonderful aroma of cream and vanilla along with the Virginia tobacco smell. Not too strong on the topping/casing, just the right balance. A medium flavor with a creamy finish and artificial aftertaste. It is a smooth smoke and even consistent burn throughout the bowl, no notice bite, and a completely balance blend. If you like aromatics this should be in your book to try. I have several tins on hand at all times. Good for veteran as well as new pipe smokers. In fact it is a good introduction to aromatics.

Heavenly tin note, good burn characteristics, barely any bite - you have to really ask for it and fabulous flavour. Still, core tobacco characteristics do come through the smoke so it's not just stuff thrown in together but carefully designed blend. This is highly recommended aromatic.

Tin note of vanilla, sugared fruit and spices. Tobacco is a Ribbon cut of light brown and brown with a tiny amount of dark brown. Moisture content is ok, but most pipe smokers will want to dry it a bit. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild, with notes of Vanilla. Vanilla is most prominent in the initial light but drops to the background afterwards. Taste is mild to medium and moderately consistent, with notes of vanilla, tart and tangy citrus, marshmallow, floral, orange zest, wood, spices, sour vegetation, earth, dark dried fruit, bread, savory, acidic, sugar, mildly spicy, a rich, sweet nutty background note, and a peppery retro. Virginias are leading with Cavendish, Virginia and Flavoring supporting. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is good.
