G. L. Pease Balrog
(4.00)
This old hobbit pipe weed was found in a wooden barrel, hidden deep at the bottom of the grand canyon, near the Phantom Ranch off the North Kaibab Trail. Analysis shows it to be from Middle Earth, Likely near the bridge at Khazad-dum where Gandalf battled the Balrog. Skilled revival produced only 175 2oz tins and a few 8oz. (10)
Notes: One of two 2011 NASPC Blends by GL Pease; the other was Arrakis Spice. Only 175 tins of each blend were produced.

Balrog was a fun tin to smoke. I never know whether to save my NASPC collectible tins or smoke the contents. I seem to wind up smoking them. Balrog had a little Latakia, a little Oriental leaf and a little Virginia. Not a deep or heavy smoke, but more in the vein of McClelland's Wilderness, which played to the Oriental lovers. It had a sweetness that I really enjoyed, and seems to be more of a summertime smoke as it is not nearly as heavy as many blends of this type.
