4noggins Thomas' Blend
(3.42)
Black Cavendish, some Vanilla, and a hint of Maple are combined to create a wonderfully aromatic, mild, smoking experience. The aroma is an elegant vanilla with a hint of maple. The room note couldn't be any better.

Newbie here. I like it! Mild, flavorful, not heavily aromatic. Burns cool. Came as part of 4noggins aro sampler set. Not sure I'll buy again, perhaps.

The cavendishes (mostly black) offer little tobacco taste besides light grass, slight citrus, toast and sugar. The creamy rich vanilla topping is the star attraction, and is complimented by a moderate amount of maple. The strength is a step past the mild mark. The nic-hit is extremely light. The taste level is a notch past the center of mild to medium. There’s no chance of bite, harshness or rough edges. It’s a tad moist, but requires no dry time. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a very consistent creamy sweet flavor that extends to the lightly lingering, very pleasant after taste, and room note. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Requires a couple of more than an average number of relights. An easy going all smoke that sports depth of flavor to the finish. Three and a half stars.

I recently ordered an aromatic sampler from 4Noggins, having never tried any of their products. WOW! This is likely the best maple tobacco is have tried. The pouch note is a mild vanilla/maple. The base tobacco is high quality, it burned very well and to the bottom of the bowl with little effort. All that was left was a fine ash. The taste was very pleasant, with an ever so slight vanilla/maple flavor. Not overpowering and biter like so many maple blends. The aftertaste was better than most. The room note was pleasant. GOnna have to order more of this one! This would be a good all day smoke. 4 stars...

The first time I smoked Thomas’s blend was around 2012. I was more of a cavendish smoker then and loved the vanilla, maple and hints of nutmeg. What’s double wonderful is when you’re at the end of the bowl and it tastes like a root beer float from a good old soda fountain. It reminded me of cookies being baked and was the first tobacco my wife allowed me to smoke in the house. As long as it was downstairs. But she loved the smell and even would steal my shirt and wear it so she can smell it. Now a decade later I can still say it is my favorite aromatic. It pairs great with a good coffee in the morning and even smokes well with a nice whiskey at night. This blend can be smoked early in the morning and can be used as an all day smoke. It does leave a bit of moisture in the bowl but it dries quick enough where you can use the same pipe through the day without it sounding like you are sipping through a straw. Some heavy cavendish can leave goop, this leaves none. I highly recommend it. I did let it sit for three years in the bag, although the notes mellow with age they are still strong enough to have a great experience.

Thomas' Blend appears to be 95% black cavendish, and 5% cavendish. Even, uniform cut, with a few small stems. Moisture content is perfect.
Pouch aroma is A-mazing! Vanilla with just a hint of maple. The vanilla does override the maple in the pouch note.
Thomas' Blend packs and lights with ease. The black cavendish has a lot of natural sweetness, and seems to be quality leaf. Creamy and earthy, leaves a pleasant after taste. No burn issues, no hints of biting. Classic vanilla aromatic that has an amazing room note. This has been a lifesaver in the summer heat as an indoor smoke. Very mild, almost zero nicotine. This would be a great starter aromatic for a new piper looking for a quality blend. Solid 3.5 stars!

As far as black cavendish goes this is pretty good. The tin (pouch) note is nice; a floral vanilla. Taste is similar; rich vanilla and a flowery sweet grass flavour. The maple I didn't notice until mid-way through, then it picked up towards the end. May require drying and several relights, but it burns cool and effortlessly. Room note is very pleasant. It's similar to Captain Black Royal or 1Q, but I find this blend's flavour far more nuanced than the former and a touch stronger than the latter. A smooth vanilla cavendish aromatic that should suit any smoker with a sweet-tooth. Recommend.

Many use the term 'all day smoke' . This one fits that proclamation perfectly, quite tasty with tremendous smoke volume. One of my favorite aro's. I can also puff hard and fast and it remains very enjoyable.

In the past I was put off aromatics thanks to cloyingly sweet, goopy, overly cased blends that bit like a bulldog, but as of late, have started to appreciate aromatics like Thomas' blend.
This is my kind of aromatic. Moisture level was good, burning to a grey ash & no dottle. Although I'm sensitive to tongue bite, TB gave me no trouble at all. Burns surprisingly cool for an aromatic. Pleasantly sweet. Has a very nice bag note. Those around you will enjoy the aroma when smoked. The maple is more noticeable to me than the vanilla. Both flavourings work well together. Has little nicotine [A positive for my needs].
This would be a great blend for newbies & lovers of aromatics. Very much recommended.
TB is worthy of 3.5 stars.
Update 23/May/22 My latest 8oz order of Thomas' Blend was a bit on the moist side and required a few more relights than the last bag. Still a nice aromatic worthy of 3 stars. Recommended for aro lovers.

My two ounces arrived quite moist, but having tried it moist and then numerous times as it has settled and dried to a more normal level of moisture, I don’t find much difference in taste or my overall rating. This is a fairly thick, creamy, and full-blown aromatic, with flavors that last to the end of the bowl. I get chocolate, cream soda, vanilla and waffle cone, with some slightly nutty nuances. Thanks to the power of suggestion I now also get flavors of what BriarMike describes as root beer float!
No flaws detected as I sometime perceive with cheap Cavendish, but I can’t give higher than three stars compared to some truly distinctive four star aromatics. If you want more than a faint hint of maple flavor I can think of three others right off that will give you that (Wilke, Autumn Evening), but this has its own pleasant mix of flavors. I’ll finish my supply and derive a modicum of enjoyment from it, but for my permanent rotation there are other aromatics I prefer.
