This blend sounded good to me in the description on pipesandcigars.com so I ordered two tins, one to try and one to put in my cellar to age a few years. It comes in a nice tin of just under 4 ounces that has an old style snap in top. Once the top is opened, it has a foil seal on it that must be removed. Very nice presentation.

Once opened, it contains loosely pressed flakes with a nice sweet tin note and mostly khaki colored tobacco. I like my flakes rubbed out and allowed to dry in a bowl for a couple of days as most flakes are too moist for me. After having done this, I loaded up the ribbon like rubbed out flake in my pipe and sat back for what looked to be a nice smoke. I was rewarded with a nice sweet smoke with a little touch of spice provided by the added perique to sweet Virginias. It lights very easy with a few light and ramps to get it burning evenly and smooth. The smoke is rich and creamy with a very sweet flavor. It smokes mostly like a straight virginia as the perique is very subtle and in the background. I would have preferred a little more perique in the blend but when smoked as a Virginia flake, it provides a lot of enjoyment.

It smokes nice and slow down the pipe leaving a medium grey ash with very little dottle in the bottom of the bowl. It stays consistent all the way down and the room note is pleasant. This is a very nice blend and one I am enjoying often judging by how fast the tin is emptying. I have no criticism of this blend other than I would have added a little more perique, but in and of itself it is a top notch blend and I highly recommend it.

Less piquant than PS Luxury Navy Flake, but with a bit more of punch than GLP Telegraph Hill, this is a very nice and well behaved Virginia flake, with a hint (and I do mean just a hint) of Pèrique. It is mild, easy on the tongue, smooth and with that natural matured-Virginias sweetness: tasty, slightly floral and uplifting. I have to agree: there is not much difference between Cask N°4, Luxury Navy Flake or even Orlik Golden Sliced. They are all very good, easy to smoke, essentially Virginian tobaccos (the amount of Pèrique is so insignificant it doesn't really change the flavor of all three that much), done in an elegant and easy going Scandinavian stye. If you like mid-strength Virginia flakes, and would like to spend a bit more than in Stokkebye's classic, this is a good option. Otherwise, you can stick to the latter and none the wiser.

This is not Stokkebye's Luxury Navy Flake, although they are both mild Virginia/Perique flakes.

The Virginias start out very bright and sweet, with the body developing slowly as the smoke progresses. The Perique is way out on the fruity end of the peppery - fruity spectrum. The flakes are on the drier side, so they tend to make it to the pipe as a broken flake rather than folded and stuffed.

I smoke this at a glacial pace, as there's more loose tobacco and less solid flake in the bowl. Anything faster, and I could see it quickly getting too warm.

Edit: Along with the paranoia about whether or not this is the same as another company's flake, I'd like to mention that there is no such thing as "Scandinavian Tobacco Company." STG is what you're looking for, whoever set these blends up, and I've seen no evidence that they're the manufacturer anyway.

Cask 4 Bulk Was a pleasant relaxing smoke that left a slight sweet aftertaste. Very easy to pack and was enjoyable right to the end.

This was the first non-aeromatic that I truly enjoyed and will add it to my rotation.

It seems everyone is saying this is PS LNF . I finished about a 2 oz jar LNF a couple weeks ago and to be honest my memory can’t go even that far back to be exact . This jar of Comoys cask no 4 is about 2 yrs old though . Not sure why i jarred it as it is almost full . I must have buried it in my stash ? Comoys no 4 is pretty smooth in my bowl right now. The Virginias are dark fruity with a little lemon citrus and floral with some cinnamon spice that might be from Perique also. A Rum topping added for sweetness. It has a nice creamy feel . The Perique seems more evident than LNF but still on mild side . I’ve been enjoying this quite a bit ! A lot of floral notes ! On a side note i love the tins Comoys blends come in . 4 stars as I would but it again .

Very fresh and young, love the colour and the unlit aroma, just a hint of topping, slightly moist, very tame at this point, certainly needs time to age, the first quarter of the bowl is quite gentle, as it develops further in the later stage, the spice comes through and the sweetness of the Virginia shining brightly! No bite if you puff it gently. All in all, a satisfactory puff, for the price I paid, almost five stars. I have absolutely no complaint!

Cask No.4 is almost the same as the Luxury Navy Flake. Cask No.4 taste has put the syrup to lemon tea.Luxury Navy Flake taste has put sugar in tea. Their taste varies depending on the conditions. So, I like both of cigarettes.

Almost a perfect smoke. The tin note is hay and grass, moisture level is a little high but does not affect burn. This rubs out and packs out very nicely due to the moisture level, I found it just right for air pocket or fold and stuff packing. the burn is near perfect, I am able to smoke an entire bowl without relight. Taste is of natural tobacco with a good amount of sweetness from the Va. an the Perique adds just a slight spicy tingle. Aftertaste is good. I would put it just a little lighter than some of the other VaPers on the market right now but I really appreciated the natural sweetness.

This is a quality tobacco that I cellar deep, because it's pretty much a staple blend for me. I usually just roughly break up a couple of flakes, without actually rubbing them out and then loosely pack my pipe. It usually takes a few re-lights and tamps but once it takes off, it's a fantastic smoke every time, with a dark fruity and slightly citrus flavor that is fairly consistent throughout the entire bowl. Not real strong and has a nice after taste, easy going and stays lit pretty easily. I like smoking this tobacco to relax with in the afternoon.
