G. L. Pease Gaslight

Full of natural sweetness of dark dried fruits, and mellow natural spiciness. Surprisingly mellow for a mix with Latakia, which allows you to enjoy the finer, sweeter notes of the Latakia and the Turkish tobaccos in it. The best of the Old London series that I’ve tried so far.

This tin kept gaslighting me. The name is perfect. Every time I smoked it, it was a slightly different experience. I never got the fruity notes that some others describe, but I got a lot of others consistent with English blends but more full in flavor. You will almost certainly have your own different experiences, so you must give this one a try for yourself. Highly recommended.

I prepared this a few different ways, but the loose plug complicated things ever so slightly. A very sharp Case pocket knife is in order.

A tobacco that needs to be tasted to be fully understood. As my good friend Mr. Pease once said, "Now I've been to two church socials and a county fair, but I have never encountered a tobacco like Gaslight. And believe me, many an evening has been spent in the sanctity of my laboratory attempting to figure it out." This is an incredibly complex blend of cigar leaf, Latakia and flue-cured leaf from North Carolina with exotic spices and condimental tobaccos added for a smoothness that is downright unnatural...to say the least.

These tasty little brownies are easy to slice and require about a 30-60min dry time (to my tastes that is). The powerhouse of complex, leathery & spicy latakia in front never overwhelms as it is backed with an intense creaminess. Notes of bread, coffee/cocoa, and savory smoked bbq intensify as the bowl burns down. Lots of nicotine for an lat-blend as well.
