The bright Virginia provides some grass, bread, light sugar, floralness, a little tart and tangy, acidic citrus and lemon, and a pinch of spice. It is the lead component. The citrusy, grassy Virginia cavendish has a light honey note. The woody burley is nutty, slightly earthy, with a drop of molasses and is just above being a condiment. I don’t notice the Maryland at all, which is not unusual as it is generally used to carry flavors of other components. I notice the vanilla and nougat a little more than the light chocolate. I’m not certain where all the spice comes from, but it’s more a suggestion rather than anything else. The nic-hit is mild. The mildly applied toppings moderately sublimate the tobaccos. More of a shag cut than ribbon, it burns well, cool, clean, smooth with a little creaminess and a very consistent flavor. The strength, nic-hit and taste levels are very mild. Requires few relights, and leaves virtually no moisture in the bowl as it burns to ash. The after taste and room notes are pleasant, but light. It’s an easy going, gentle all day smoke, and though it could use a little more depth of flavor, it performs nicely enough. Two and a half stars.

I've jarred this tobacco hoping that some age would improve its taste. I have been disappointed. I bought a few ounces in Nov of 2015 and try a bowel about every six months. I think I'm done and this will go in the compost. There is not much more I can say. (7/28/2017) Well, I didn't put it in the compost I thought I give it another go. No surprise changes after being jarred for 21 months. I can taste nothing of the casings supposed to be on this blend. It gets the one star from me and I am usually not hard to please.(7/16/19) I never did compost this stuff and it's been in the jar for two more years. I have changed my time on this smoke again. I pulled this out this morning and filled my pipe, lit her up and it has been pleasant so far. It has maintained a good moisture content over time and the casing are coming thru much nicer. It has a milder taste and I am much more accepting of this blend. I have raised this now to a two and one half star level, IMHO.

Purchased from cup o'joes, in bulk I wouldn't say spicy virginia for this blend. It's more like earthy citrus, cacao and some light chocolate and nuts (oily) when burns hotter than normal. Don't expect the spicy touch of virginia, at least I haven't noticed it at all. Burning well when slightly dried, otherwise it just gives me a nice tongue-bite which I normally never experience. Still, the blend is somewhat good, since I personally like citrus and cacao notes even separately, it combines both surprisingly. Would I buy again? Maybe some years later to see if I still can love it.

Comoy's of London - Cask #9 Spiced Virginia (Comoy's).

The tobacco's practically a shag, quite dark, with a sweet, aromatic, aroma; albeit, a mild aroma, not heavy.

The smoke, to me, seems to be more of a Virginia, Cavendish, aromatic one. I find the Burley very lightly included. The toppings aren't at all heavy, the vanilla's the stronger of the bunch, but still nowhere near being 'sticky'. The chocolate and nougat sit much further back, lending the smoke just a touch of character. The burn's good in the fact it doesn't require much attention, but a bad point can be the speed.

Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.

I rate #9 with two stars, not higher, solely because although it's not a bad smoke it's boring:

Somewhat recommended.

Cask No.9 is a fairly easygoing smoke, the bright Virginias are sweet and grassy with a slight tartness, cigarette-like. The Cavendish is earthy and creamy vanilla. The nougat flavors are coconut forward and the cask spice is woody with a nutmeg hint, cocoa flavors are subdued. Pack firmly to avoid harshness. Somewhat bitter, burns clean to ash and leaves very little moisture behind.

I don't get any nicotine, but wasn't expecting any. Moisture level perfect. All golden leaf cut in a fine ribbon. I taste a spicy vanilla on my tongue, but no sweetness. Minimal relights, and smokes dry.

This is a heavy cased aromatic. Upon opening the tin heavy raisins and bread notes are easily perceived, along with some cocoa. RIbbons are very tiny and my tin came on the humid side.

It burns easily but one can easily over puff this mixture. It´s more a bland tobacco even though the casing. You can also taste the tobacco, but in a very uninteresting way.
