Fribourg & Treyer - Vanners Mixture.
Because the tin's very deep this means the tobacco isn't squashed in there. It's quite loose in the tin. So this means the blend hasn't had all the moisture pressed into it in transit, and it's easy to remove a pinch of tobacco. The blend's constructed of mainly Virginia, with only a touch of black Cavendish. I don't get much in the way of a tin note, it's just a plain old Virginia one.
Right from ignition Vanners couldn't burn any better. It goes clean, reliably, and gives a cool smoke. I normally smoke a low nicotine, sweet flavoured, aromatic in the afternoon but can see Vanners fitting that slot, also. The majority of the smoke's Virginia: very sweet, very fruity, with some mellow hay. The strength of the fruit increases across the bowl, until at the end it rules the smoke. I don't find there to be many, if any, of the sharper Virginia qualities. The sweetness isn't enough to imply a topping, it's just indicative of quality, ripe, Virginias. If I'm honest there's that little Cavendish I don't even notice any. I've smoked four bowls of this today without any tongue bite.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.
Vanners Mixture? A high quality Virginia. Four stars:
Highly recommended.

Vanners is a very pleasant, unassuming smoke. When I first tried it, I thought it was okay, but maybe a little bland. after a few more bowls, with a fair amount of time between them, I started to appreciate it more. It’s not one of my favorites (not yet anyway. Maybe after a few more bowls?) but it’s a good, mellow smoke.

This an excellent mixture of red and gold Virginias with just enough black Cavendish to make this a very enjoyable smoke.
I did notice the mixture was quite moist, but nothing to the extent that makes the tobacco unsmokable. To me there was no tongue bite, but I did detect that if you smoke this too fast the bowl will get extremely hot. This is a Virginia Mixture and does require one to smoke it very slow.
One other thing I have noticed, this tobacco leaves no after taste lingering in your mouth as some I have smoked.
