I received just enough of this for a bowl as a sample with the first pipe i brought, a cheap briar. I smoked a couple of other blends before trying this, though was by no means experienced.
The tobacco looks good, and packs fine, the aroma isn't anything special, but is not at all unpleasant. Unfortunately everything really went down hill from there for me. It lights well, but burns very hot and gave me the worst tongue bite i have ever experienced to date. It was a real struggle to finish the bowl, and I was glad when the experience was over. It's really hard to find anything good to say about this tobacco, I certainly couldn't recommend it, and would have to be in dire straits before smoking this let alone buying it. That said I was very inexperienced when smoking it, so perhaps it could be interesting to revisit at some point out of curiosity to see just how bad it is, or if I was completely wrong.

STG - Colts Deluxe Gold.
Inside the pouch resides a medium brown, simple ribbon cut blend. The smell coming from said pouch is ever so slightly aromatic; sort of fondant and sweet. The moisture's good and as it's from a pouch the blend isn't all compressed together. Due to this it's total bliss to load and fill with.
Sometimes I've stumbled upon a lesser reviewed blend that's absolutely awesome; e.g. Orlik Royal Club, other times I light up a less popular blend and imminently see why it has very few followers.
On the plus side, it's easy to light. After that, it's all down hill: firstly the smoke's far too hot, it's like sucking on a furnace. There's a sort of added flavour that comes through but it's really mild and I can't quite tell if it's from alcohol, nuts, or something sweet. The burn's fast, really fast and it bites like absolute hell; to the point of becoming unbearable. The point I'll finish on is the room-note: horrible.
Not recommended.
