Since I tried this blend, it is all I have been smoking. It is right now my favorite blend. I absolutely love this stuff. It is mild gives no tongue bite is a little of a pain to keep lit --- but in my opinion the flavor is outstanding. Think sweet caramel and you got it . not sickening sweet but a deliciousness you will be going back to again and again. This is pure smoking enjoyment. You will not get a nicotine rush from this but if you enjoy aromatics as I do for the most part, you should give this one a try.

In a nutshell, I'm addicted to this stuff! Tastes of chocolate and vanilla and smells as good as it tastes. Its very similar to MacBaren's 7 Seas Black, but slightly sweeter to my tastes.
Maybe I've just smoked English blends so much for so long that my tastes are changing or I'm just now discovering a few aromatics that I actually like. Regardless, Dansk Black will have a permanent place in my cellar.

I am, without doubt, a black-cav kind of guy, but not too fond of heavy aromatics. And this BC suits the bill wonderfully. It does everything well: moisture about right (but 30-min. drying will not hurt the experience), packs and lights with ease, smokes down to a fine gray ash. Can't really make it bite, though others may be able to.
The tin aroma is heavenly but in no way heavy; the vanilla and caramel notes are subtle. The aroma is divine, 100% wife approved, and whiffs of sidestream smoke tell me she's right. Heavy, beautiful smoke. More complex than you would think and it gets even better about the middle, still good at the end. Dottle means one is smoking too hard--hard puffers definitely should spread a bowlful out to dry for a half-hour before lighting.
This blend is similar to other black cavs as noted below, but better. BCA and CB Dark are good--really good--but No. 47 is a bit tastier and stronger than CB Dark and a good bit tastier & stronger than BCA and Smoker's Pride Black Cav. I don't know if it is the topping or what, but No. 47 is just ballsier than the others. Peter Stokkebye really got this one right.
Exceptional, but you smoke this for flavor, not for the nicotine hit. I could smoke No. 47 all day (and have), but at some point I just need more vitamin N. But who smokes only one tobacco all the time?

This is the Black Cavendish I've been blending with most recently, and have been for a few years. I thought I should actually review it after all this time.
So I smoked a bowl of this straight, and got more fruit flavor than caramel or vanilla that others have noted, but those probably are there too. As a matter of fact, I almost felt like I was getting some alcohol fumes as if I was drinking a cordial, when I wasn't drinking anything. I'd say that's a good thing for an aromatic.
No tongue bite, and there is a little Vitamin N if you're looking for it.

This stuff is awesome. Full of rich flavors with no bite at all. I love it. I can't wait to age some to see if it improves the taste. You have got to give this stuff a try. It smokes like a dream.
