Sutliff Tobacco Company Maraschino #702
(1.75)
Initially in the 1890's the maraschino cherry was an expensive luxury item only served in the finest hotels. Now over a century later, the delicious maraschino can be enjoyed as a pipe tobacco. A bite free mixture of burley, Virginia and black cavendish.

Tobacco has a very nice note upon opening and a nice texture as well. Has a nice room note that will please others. Now for the dowside - burns fairly harsh. By doing so it eliminates any tobacco flavor pulling through and overpowers the flavoring. Thought maybe the first few times I was powering through it too fast but even after babying it, it did not sufficiently improve the smoking experience. Somewhat surprised - I was hoping it may have some promise. It does improve the deeper you go, but not enough to really recommend when there are so many others out there to try.

Sutliff Tobacco Co. - Maraschino #702.
It isn't too coarse a mixture, only a little more rugged than a regular ribbon. The pouch has a strong aroma of cherries. Black Cavendish only accounts about 20%, it's mostly a VaBur. Moisture's good.
I often enjoy cherry aromatics, but the cherry flavour in this is too sharp and acidic for me. This smothers the tobaccos, to a certain extent. As was implied by the appearance the tobaccos are mainly a VaBur in the smoke, the black Cavendish gives only a scintilla of flavour. It isn't too warm with the burn but can give me some grief with bite.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.
Maraschino #702? Not my 'cup of tea' and not recommended:
One star.

Not very good. I expected more from this tobacco but was extremely disappointed. Burned very hot and bit my tongue badly. Smoked a few bowls and threw out the rest.
