Edward's Friars 1804

(2.50)
A new taste in dark, fire-cured Cavendish. Blended with light, string-cut Virginia and mild Maryland tobaccos, then aged with the rich mellow taste of port wine. A most rewarding gentleman's mixture.

This is a dark tobacco with flecks of Virginia cavendish cut. The pouch aroma is dark, but suggestive of fruit. It packs easily. Flavor is actually not that sweet, only semi-sweet. The essence and flavoring added only rarely shows up, more an accopmanyment to the darker tones. There are no surprises in this blend. It has a light-to-medium tobacco body, but no real strength, and the flavor really won't jump out- it's a monotone. It burns clean and dry, as do all Edwards aromatics. It's a nice enough blend, but not for me.
