Edward's Bishop Burley

(2.55)
A blend of rare Burleys and Virginias with a faint touch of Orientals. An all day smoke with a sweetness all of its own.

Most everything can be found online, but I can't find an official list of what EBB contains. This TR site states it is "A blend of rare Burleys and Virginias with a faint touch of Orientals. An all day smoke with a sweetness all of its own." But the proprietor of Edwards told me it was strictly a blend of 3 different burleys and nothing else, he even showed me a print catalog supporting his description. He said it was his only copy, no I couldn't keep it, now I wished I had taken a photo of the catalog. I mention these details because what I smoked was indeed Edward's Bishop Burley smoked in an Edward's pipe shop and was nothing more or less than burley + burley + burley. Now I like burley but a pure burley blend in this instance didn't work for me, was boring, evoking a dry dinner roll without any butter or gravy. I only gave it one shot though, so in all fairness maybe this tobacco requires more patience. I gave my purchase to a friend since I was also trying other blends from Edward's with some hits and misses. I struck out swinging with EBB.

A blend consisting of very dry cube and ribbon cut tobaccos. Despite its dryness, I found many relights were necessary. Cube cut tobaccos, for many, mean (many) relights. Although not unpleasant, I found the nutty taste of this tobacco not to my liking.

I rate this tobacco 5.0 out of 10.
