I am somewhat dismayed by other reviewer's references to "cough syrup." It proves, I suppose, how varied are tastes and opinions about tobacco. Or, perhaps my slight aging of the tin made the difference, but I submit that this is one of the most flavorful, delightful blends that I have come across in the forty or more years that I have been puffing. I hear that Sutliff has discontinued the blend? Oh, I hope not! I found it pleasantly sweet and tasty, with a nice ash and a marvelous room note. No bite, and intensely flavorful to the very end. Absolutely my highest recommendation; perhaps my all-time favorite blend. Outstanding!

Sutliff Spinnaker is a Burley based cherry flavored aromatic. I sense Cherry Coke or Dr. Pepper out of the tin. Handling is a no-brainer, with fast and easy burn. The flavor is pretty intense in the first half of the bowl, very artificial, reminding me also of the smell of dryer sheets in addition to the above mentioned, but I like it. It is being tamed by the tart unsweetened Black Cavendish, resulting in an overall subtle, not candy like sweetness. The nutty/chocolaty taste of Burley comes through in the second half. Eager drawing constantly leads to slightly bitter endings.
Spinnaker doesn’t bite at all, but it will be way too mild for most experienced smokers. The basic difference that makes it stand out to other cherry flavored blends is the high Burley content and absence of Virginia.

1st I open it, damn, smells bad, almost like a cought syrup. A strong cherry flavor I guess, but after a few minutes the smell is getting better, a smooth and delight cherry. Easy to burn and great smoke, I smoke it very slow because it will be gurgling if you draw it hard. The room note is very good, my family love the smell after I smoke this blend.
