Very smoky and rich. I enjoyed this a great deal.

Tin note is medium English.

Smoke is thick and dense, and like all Sutliff easy to manage.

Nothing spectacular, just a good all-round English blend.

I find the earthy Burley more prevalent in this than the Virgina, but this may be because I opened the tin over two years ago and forgot about it until very recently. It was a little dry when I came back to it, and consequently smoked a little hotter than it might have otherwise.

It is an OK medium-mild English blend, and for the price it is very good. The Latakia is light, and it is an easy smoke, but not fully satisfying for me. That is, it is not a tobacco I would sit down to enjoy at the end of the day (there is not enough complexity), but one I would smoke when out and about

Blend Name: Sutliff Field Master

Label: In fox hunting, the quarry, the pack, the field and the field master are all essentials of the hunt. Conversely, this luxurious English mixture has its essentials: Smoky Latakia, Matured Virginias, Rich Burley and Quality Turkish.

Aroma: Smoky and sweet, no artificialness to it.

Taste: Complex, several subtle flavors peak out from time to time.

Room Note: Smoky from the Latakia, but not too much. It's not overwhelming, but still an outdoor smoke for me.

Thoughts: It burns smooth and well. No complaints, but not my cup of tea.

Rating: 6/10
