This is a tobacco that I have smoked since day one. The local shop has a good stock and sales a bundle of the stuff so that speaks volumes. I am no mega fan of Lakeland topping I just have to be in the mood. It comes around every now and then. Not as cased as Ennerdale and to me smells like rosehip or for the most part Turkish delight. A perfume tobacco in Lakeland style I guess its love or hate and for me an every now and then smoke but good stuff if it floats your boat.

This tobacco is one of my favorites, the virginias and burley are wonderfully blended and the licorice, maple and the sublime tonquin bean flavorings are exquisite! The flakes are beautiful and the perfect size to fold stuff and twist. This smoke is one to savor while sitting in the garden enjoying the sounds of nature. This blends lends itself to reflection and calming thought with the wonderful flavors and deep robust quality of the tobaccos. I highly recommend this one!

This one is very good. I really enjoyed it but I have to say that unless G&H had implied that this was the same as BF U/S I would not have guess it. BF U/S is complex the casings here have muted a lot of that. The VA's have notes of hay/grass and some dark fruit notes as well. There is a slight spicy note too. The burley is very earthy and nutty (although not nearly as beautiful as the unscented version) a note of molasses and a faint trace of chocolate. The toppings come through in every puff. The tonquin is out-front for the most part although the licorice does move forward from time to time. The maple is like a very light maple syrup and way in the background. It does spread over my palate and as the bowl progresses it does have a nice sweet lingering finish to it. I do think that unlike the unscented version the lakeland essence is present but was added with a very light hand and it never really comes to the front of the smoke. It does not bite or get harsh did leave a little moisture in the bottom of the bowl. The nic is solidly at the med. range. The room note was not a favorite of the wife's.

This is a Virginia/burley flake top flavored with tonka bean oil, in lakeland style, it is very similar to dark flake scented, however, the flake color is brighter than DFS and it is milder in nicotine.

I find the Dark flake scented tastes much better.
