Planta Van Halteren Black and Bright

(2.57)
A blend of first quality fully riped cavendish left under pressure until the leaf tobacco has been changed into a deep black colour. Very rich and smooth aroma of tobacco components guaranteed.
Notes: Only very soft, doubly fermented black cavendish. Slightly sweet flavor with noble spices. Long Grain. Very mild and aromatic. Mix and taste are unchanged; only the name is new. 'Bright' in the meaning of "shiny/bright" replaces the term "Light", which in the near future may no longer be used due to new EU directives.

"It is what one takes into solitude that grows there, the beast within included" (Nietzsche), and this time what I did take was "Black and Bright". I wasn't impressed with the first aroma I got after opening the can. The artificial smell of aromatics results unappealing for seasoned English and Balkan tobacco smokers. However, this time I was looking for something I can smoke without leaving my entire house smelling like a pub in Dublin, and it looks like I found it. Mild in aroma and taste, with a pleasant room note, it allows smoking without residual smells left. Nonetheless, It is a flat smoking experience. The good news is that it makes perfect material for mixing with stronger tobaccos, so they become less intrusive for non-pipe smokers ( I think J.R.R Tolkien referred to them as Orcs). I will keep playing with it so maybe I can develop something better. update: After some experiments with the other tobaccos I have at home, I found out the mixture "Black and Bright":"Stanwell melange"=2:1 is an equilibrated combination which provides pleasant room note, full body smoke, and lower sweetness.

It burns quite smooth and needn't to relight much so don't rush it. Even you must keep pace with the speed of burning to keep the bowl colder. The taste and flavor is not some thing special which makes it noble, somehow you feel something is dancing in the bottom of your throat! It is suggested to be a good mix which could be provided by mixing with a Virginia based tobaccos such as 'Sherlock Holmes from Peterson'. I recommend the same. Among aromas which I tested, its tongue-bite is less...even if your puff is deep.

Tobacco not verry strong, rather flat indeed. My girlfriend didn't smell any aroma. And I've finished my bowl in 30/45 minutes so it burns quickly.
