The title of this blend was enough to tell me that this is Peter Stokkebye’s Proper English, though I’d have likely figured it out once I was smoking it, so I’m repeating that review here. The Virginia provides grass and hay with some citrus, and forms the base of this blend. The smokey, woody rich Cyprian latakia has a fairly strong presence, and also sports a light mustiness, though this is not a lat-bomb. The Orientals are dry, woody, sweet and sour with a touch of spice as a support player. The nicotine is a little past mild. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool at a moderate pace with a little inconsistent flavor, and has a little acrid finish. Don’t need many relights, or leave much moisture in the bowl. Not quite an all day smoke. A working man's English blend. Two and a half stars.
