Amphora Golden Blend is the lighter brother of Black Cavendish.
A very pleasant blend of Virginia, Burley (partly toasted) and a touch of Orientals, slightly topped with some liquor or the like.
Lights and burns easy to the very bottom and delivers a mild smoke, sweet with fruity & piquant notes. Pleasant to exhale through the nose. A blend in the typical dutch Cavendish vein, it may be a so comfortable all-day smoke if it was not requiring much attention to avoid hot smoke and palate scorched. The first half of the bowl is in fact consistently piquant, and I think part of the Burley has been processed a' la Perique. The second part of the bowl mets down in a much mellower smoke, leaving dry ashes. Nice for DGT.
Not for the novice.
All in all a three star blend.
