This was my first pipe tobacco to try. It is a very mild, yet creamy tobacco. No tongue bite, and very little saint nic. It does however get boring quite quickly. I guess right from the start I was ready for something stronger. One other thing for a burly tobacco it sure is expensive.

Thank you Freddie for once again hosting the Pipe Smokers Guild meeting last night. It was great fun.
At our table we were presented by Davidoff Green, Red and Blue. I chose the Green because it smelled like a favourite and standby blend being Petersons Sherlock Holmes.
It does not come close to SH.
I found it bland and tasteless. Not for a Million Pounds would i be able to identify this blend in a blind test. It was just so flat and boring and horror of horrors, around mid bowl i got that Cavendish taste with every puff.
I guess it would appeal to the Pipester who likes this type of blend, the base tobaccos seem to be of very good quality.

My brother in law bought some of Davidoff blends for me while he transit at Dubai. He loking arround to the airport free duty store and the store sell some kind of pipe tobaccos and he choose the Davidoff blend because the brand is very popular. When I open the tin for the 1st time I smell a creamy mixed fruity from the tobacco, pack it light and burn it and I get a light/mild smoke, allmost plain I gues but with a pleasant rome notes. I think this blend is very good for beginner. For a mild and smooth smoke, I think this blend is good enough. With a creamy fruity flavor is very easy to enjoy.

And I was so looking forward to this. My samplings of the red and blue mixtures were favourable, the red's christmas cake overtones and the blue's hints of cream played a merry dalliance with my taste buds and satisfied me most royally.
I thought the promise of these two might be kept when I first opened the tin and a delightful honey scent wafted my nostrils like flowers on a summers day, I so couldn't wait to get in my pipe and light up. Boy, what a disappointment. Yes, there are slight twinges of honey in the flavour but it is subtle to the point of failing to get the message across.
Yes, yes, I do still find myself getting some pleasure from smoking this, and the room note is impeccable, the lack of tonguebite is also a plus, hence the two stars.
I like all the other Davidoff tobacco I've tried, the other colour mixtures, their cigarettes, I so wanted to give this three stars, sadly the lack of flavour in the smoke prevents me from doing so. However, there are enough plus points here to save it from being one star, it's just a shame I can't get the room note without having to smoke it.

[Edit: I recently opened a tin of the green which was lackluster without much flavoring of any kind. Still an easy smoke, but no longer a 3 star in my playbook.]
Well no marks for the generic packaging (one of the few tins that is improved by the look of the warning label). The aroma inside is sour and whatever fruit lived there is now deceased, rotten, and ceremoniously buried with a light dusting of sugar. Not the best air freshener, but I was eager to spark up having been impressed by other stinky Aromatics before.
The mottled mix of dark Cavendish and lighter Burley had a good thickness and moisture level, without an annoying sticky topping. Had a nice even burn with an easy smoke that I found myself inhaling on a few occasions. I didn't really notice what the fruit is supposed to be, yet I was happy with the sweet residue left on my tongue nonetheless.
While I can't identify a specific flavor here, it made for an all day smoker and reliable Aromatic I would be happy to puff again.

It's tempting to give this a one star review to punish Davidoff for trading on their name rather than their product, but the truth is that it's not that bad.
It's very mild but as that's the point of this blend I can't fault it for that either.
My problem is that it's not just mild, it's insipid. It lacks anything interesting in its meekness.

Not much to add to what has been written so far.... it is what it says it is. Unflavored cavendish, virginia and burly.
When I first smoked Green Mixture I was unimpressed. I tried it again and was less critical but still not all that happy.
Now I tred it in a cob and am satisfied that its not as bad as some reviewers have suggested.
The tin note is a little floral and I pick up a background sweetness that faintly reminds me of caramel. The 3 components smell in balance, the cavendish and virginia being at the for front.
Lighting it up it comes across rather fruity and sweet, it mellows through the bowl with the virginia tastes gradually dissipating.
Not a bad smoke, not going to win any prizes. What struck me was how easy it was to keep lit. I find it Relatively cool smoking and experienced no tongue bite.
Like I said at the beginning, it is what it says it is. Will I buy it again? Probably not. Would I recommend it to someone else? If you are after a cool burning, fairly one dimensional, unflavored cavendish blend, give it a go.

For the past half year or so I have almost stopped smoking aromatics as English/Balkans/Virginias/Vapers may suit more for me. The Davidoff Green Mixture is one of the first tobaccos I tried and had several bowls and only recently I thought to give it again a try (I did like it from start, just shifted to non-aromatics in the process). So this is a more updated review of the blend (Feb-2023) having been aged perhaps for more than 7-8 months in the jar. The tobacco is very pleasant, mild in terms of strength, it is a moderately aromatic tobacco, i.e., not a blend with overwhelming casings. In his review, “Pipestud” mentions a “somewhat ripe strawberries taste” - I’d say, I experienced something similar, additionally something little creamy and a kind of “honey casing” as some other folk mentioned as well. My more recent bowls are with country gentleman MM using acrylic stem, i.e., non-filtered corn cob pipe. The tobacco can be smoked directly without drying time, even though out of the jar it keeps little moist and juicy, and it burns very cool without any chance of bite. It may need a number of relights, but it has a medium ribbon cut that allows it to burn without too much difficulty. A nice combination of black cavendish with burley and some presence of Virginia. A high-quality tobacco with the signature of Davidoff. Yes, I think for those who are at early stage of pipe smoking, no matter whether you direct yourself to aromatics or non-aromatics, it worth give it a try and perhaps, have a bowl once in a while, but if you are more into aromatics then this blend could be part of your regular rotation. This blend performs very, very, very well in corn cob pipes. Overall, I would incline to 2 starts or 2 & half stars, though if you are more into aromatics, then this can be very much enjoyed and be, at least, a 3-star blend.
