I'm making an assumption here with this blend. My tin says 'Kriswill Classical Navy Cut' so I have guessed - rightly or wrongly - that this is the latest version of this blend. Gotta be the same, surely ?
It's actually a damn good blend as well. The flake strips that await you are welded together in a pile, for want of a better word. This mass is sticky and very dark in colour, punctuated here and there with a faint golden fleck. It breaks up easily enough enough despite the moisture level. The wetness seems to go away after the tin is opened.
The smoke itself isn't particularly memorable, but not totally dull either. I've grumbled about these German virginia types being all the same in the past, but the addition of perique raises this a shade about the others I have tried.
Apart from the obvious flavours here I can't detect much else in here, and I've finished the tin.
The biggest reason for buying this has got to be the price. Way less than anything you can get in the UK - still. This isn't one of the cheapo German blends either, so well worth buying if you can.
