B&B Tobacconists, llc Doc Piedmont
(2.50)
*B&B Tobacconists Doc Piedmont*- We’ve combined Red Virginia, a mildly flavored toasted black cavendish and a light amount of Perique to get one of the most enjoyable all day non-aromatic smokes on the market. This tobacco is named for the U.S.S. Piedmont, a destroyer tender. One of our close friends served on her and we wanted to honor both ship and pal.

This is a VaPer with a twist, it has a little black canvendish added to the mix, not the sweet kind but the natural. It makes for a very interesting blend that is very tart and great with a cup of coffee or tea. It claims to have just a little perique in it but my palette picks up the perique as dominant in the blend. The VA adds it's sweetness and the black cavendish basically gives it body and rounds it out. It is basically a ribbon cut but with short rough edged flaky pieces throughout and it is mostly a dark deep brown in color with a little lighter and darker here and there in the blend. It's pouch aroma is very peaty and a little spicy and it comes a little moist so I like to dry it out a little before smoking. It does load easily into the pipe and lights up right off the bat, with a little rise but a touch of the finder settles it in just fine. It burns as a nice slow burn, and creates a very tart, spicy, creamy smoke. It burns down to a dark grey ash and will burn all the way down if smoked slow to a fluffy ash. The tartness and spiciness of this blend can fool you into thinking it is giving you tongue bite if smoked fast but it's really not, and I like a drink with it. It is quite tasty as a morning smoke with coffee or tea. It does not get stronger as it burns down the taste is quite consistant, but if smoked really fast it can gain a little bitterness towards the bottom of the bowl. I like this blend and the more I smoke it the more I find little subtle nuances with it. I recommend trying this blend, it's very different but still appealing to a VaPer lover.
