As advertised this blend is richly flavored with vanilla, caramel, and honey sweetness. It is always disappointing when an aromatic tobacco smells great in the bag and in the air but the taste is mild and subdued. That is not the case with Molto Dolce. This blend you can taste to high heaven and it's delicious.

I find that, freshly opened, it has a slightly synthetic taste, but jarred for a few weeks the flavors marry with the tobacco and taste very natural and nuanced. This blend will make you look at your pipe after a few puffs and let out an audible "mmm." The best aromatics have a supporting tobacco taste as well as top flavoring. This blend has that. The tobaccos used give it a nice toasted taste.

I found myself smoking this fast and therefore hot, but the flavor continued to shine and it didn't bite. This is a decadent dessert tobacco blend that, if you are in the mood, will surely satisfy.

A very sweet, dessert style blend, that is creamy and heavy on both flavor and casing. An absolute delight to sip and is easy on the tongue.

You're walking to a cottage on a hillside; the lush green prairie grass ripples in the spring breeze and dances with the shadows of the passing white clouds in the sky. The cottage is nestled in between a few trees and the windowsills are accented with a mix of purple, yellow, and white flowers. Walking through the front door, the subtle scent of the old oak floors reminds you that this cottage is from your grandparent's time. You can still catch the lingering aroma of the crust from the pie baked early this morning. The light breeze from outside waltzes through the small kitchen window to marry all of these aromas together.

This is the place Molto Dolce took me to.

The tin greets you with honey & vanilla first and foremost but caramel & cocoa isn't far behind. There's a delicate floral note and perhaps prune or raisin peaking through the gaps to fill out the profile. This one is exceedingly damp upon opening and you'll need to wipe your fingers off with a napkin after handling. Once it's dried for a while, the caramel then takes center stage.

I must have studied the notes of this tin 20 times because after each draw of the aroma, there was still something interesting tucked away in the mix that I would have a hard time pinpointing and the profile subtly shifts with each whiff. A fascinating olfactory experience.

The smoke is silky smooth. Plum is gently present and garnished with ripe raspberry, and I think I was picking up some light hints of black cherry. Vanilla bean and ever so subtle hints of floral honey fill in the gaps. Quite sweet.

The retrohale is as smooth as silk, the tobacco burns surprisingly cool, and tongue bite would be unknown to humanity if this was all that existed.

The room note is mild-medium in strength but very pleasant; it's elegant and almost exotic. It's very floral and almost perfumey. Opulent is the word that comes to mind. This one is a crowd pleaser. If your significant other likes candles and incense, they'll like the smell of this.

Molto Dolce satisfies a sweet tooth, I love the smell of it both in the tin and in the smoke, and it's an aroma that I couldn't imagine anyone would find offensive.

I think most aromatic smokers will enjoy this one but it's unlikely to win over many non-aromatic smokers, if any, because of how heavily it's flavored.

After my first bowl of this tobacco, I had to create a login to write a review.

I’m 6 months into smoking pipes and I’ve tried about 10-15 tobaccos so far. I got Molto Dolce for August 2023 pipe club review from muttonchop piper.

I paid 14$ for this and the Canadian government slapped me with 30$ duty fees… unreal.

I gotta say though, this stuff makes me want to become American. Incredible smoke. We have nothing that compares to this up in Canada. I’m a big Aro smoker and I usually stick to Mr. B’s Bucaneer or Mr. B’s Own. This tobacco blows them out of the water.

The char light was simple enough and I did not need to relight my pipe, not once. Smoked it to the bottom of the bowl which is rare for me, but this stuff is awesome. It’s wet/oily but I’m used to that with the Bucaneer. But the flavors stayed until the very last sip of the bowl. Usually the bottom becomes unbearable and I toss it. Not this one. Delicious till the end.

At first, when I lit the tobacco, I was puffing hard because I was getting no taste. I inhale sometimes and inhaling this was like inhaling steam; no burning, nothing. As the smoke progressed (about 5 minutes in), the taste came: vanilla, honey and such a pleasant smoke! Losts of smoke up in my face, but no harsh mouthfeel. Super smooth, tasty and pleasant. So easy to smoke, felt almost like hooka pipe.

If you are a new smoker, you must try this. No tongue bit, little aftertaste and really easy going. What a great smoking experience, I’m going to buy some when I visit the States. This tobacco must stay in my rotation, must get it when I can… and so should you!

Tin note is vanilla and molasses and the smell is quite sweet. The tobacco is a bit on the moist side. Packs easily. The toppings are the main flavors. Vanilla, Molasses, and Caramel. not much tobacco flavor. The good news is not too much chemical flavor either unless you puff hard, then the chemicals come out. The Virginia is very lite, but you can taste it in the background. For Aromatic smokers this would be a good choice. Nic hit is very mild.

This is the best aromatic cavendish blend available. Tin note is strong vanilla with honey and caramel flavors with vanilla dominating. When the tin is opened, the pleasant smell fills the room. The cavendish is a blend of black, dark and light brown ribbons with some black chunks. Feels wet. Oily residue is visible on the sides of the tin. I place a bowlful on a white piece of paper to dry for 10 minutes. I will leave that sheet of paper on my dresser for a month to continue leeching vanilla scents into the room. After loading the bowl, there is a delightful smelling brown stain on the white sheet after only ten minutes. Flavor tastes like it smells: vanilla primarily, along with sweet honey and caramel. This is the only cavendish that taste like it smells and advertises. There is no comparison to molto dolce. Requires relights. Leaves some moisture in the bowl. Tastes sweet to the last puff. Very pleasant room note and after taste.

I am a new pipe smoker and as such I personally am not at the point where I want a hard hitting tobacco flavored blend.

Someone else compared one’s appreciation for different blends evolves as with one’s taste of wine, and I would agree.

Guess I am still at the Baby Duck stage 😉

That said MD does not taste like tobacco to me, rather like an airy sweetness with some body.

The taste for me is medium whereas the flavor to Med-Strong. The room note is very pleasing.

I am so happy to have found my staple, my anchor as I continue to explore and evolve, but after a year long search, and many “tastings”, I have finally found my everyday smoke!

Smells great but I didn't get much out of it. It was wet and hard to keep lit so I smoked it heavily to keep it lit. There's some light caramel taste--it's like what I imagine vaping must be like. It's nice but not very satisfying.

Holy smokes. This is the Amarone of pipe tobacco. Everyone has that first smoke that just stands out from the rest really waxy over the head Amarone he did that to me with wine and I grew out of that desire of bold and sweetIt will always have a place in my heart but tastes change and I suspect that as much as I am impressed with this I could see myself refining my pallet to a more ”serious“ tobacco and much like amaretto I can already tell I will have a lifelong affinity for this fun delicious Pleasant

This is a classic, sticky-sweet vanilla aromatic that definitely qualifies as highly recommended in the sticky-sweet-vanilla blend category we all love! Seriously, I usually smoke English blends but like to work a good aro into the rotation. MD definitely fits the bill. While it is heavily cased, it was not as sticky as some of the excellent vanillas I've smoked over the years. The nice part is that while it is heavily cased it is not to the level of GOOPY when you open the tin. No tongue bite. I did not have a problem with bowl-ghosting. Nice vanilla taste over the burnt Cavendish flavor. I'd buy MD again to satisfy my vanilla sweet tooth! Enjoy
