Sutliff Tobacco Company Match Late Evening
(2.74)
This is a match to Dunhill "Nightcap". This is a robust latakia based blend, enhanced by matured Virginias, exotic Turkish and a touch of perique for a robust body, a hint of spice and a deep, mellow sweetness.
Notes: Formerly known as Match Dunhill Nightcap.

I really like this blend. I have NOT tried the real thing but I love the tin note and powerful room note. This is an outdoor smoke IMHO. Light it once and forget it. It reminds me of musty canvas tents and leather tack. Both fond memory smells for me.

Last night I decided to smoke a small pipe of dunhill and then a small pipe of match nightcap to compare, I do not have the most sensitive palette and sometimes read of flavors in a blend that I have trouble finding but the match seemed pretty close to the dunhill version. The main difference being that match is bulk and can be drier than the tin (I have not tried the bulk dunhill, only tinned) I felt the smoke was heavier and more dense from dunhill but not to the point where I would avoid the match blend. Both are pleasant nightcaps with decent nicotine and very full flavor of Latakia and rich tobaccos

I had heard a lot about the original version which I never had and about this match. So, i decided to try the match. Opening the bag I was met by a rich pleasant smoky aroma with a wonderful leather overtone. A strong mustiness with a nice woody smell with a pleasant sweet smelling sweetness and a very, very slight floral. The bacca seemed perfect in moisture to smoke but the amounts of relights will cause me to leave it out for a half hour next time.
Upon lighting I was met by a very easy light and a profusion of smoke that was creamy and thick but disappeared quickly. The flavor , it was a rich, deep sweet pleasant spiciness wrapped in a strong and wonderful rich smoky campfire flavor that leaves a sweet, rich, spicy smoky aftertaste. A p!easant roomnote. This burned at a steady slightly faster pace. The flavors complimented each other beautifully and were very consistant. The one exception was a very light vanilla that popped up once in a while. It was very light. A well balanced delightfully full flavored blend that I absolutely love. Never bites, is a ribbon cut with a coarse cut. Can be a all day smoke. A touch more than medium nic hit. Adding to my rotation. A top favorite that I give a 5 star rating out of 4 stars. This is absolutely a perfect blend.

This is an excellent tobacco. I have never had the original but if it is better than this then it is one awesome tobacco. Easy on the tongue. Full flavor with lots of thick smoke. Slow burning.
