Cornell & Diehl Chocolate Cavendish
(2.33)
A delicate balance of several Scandinavian tobaccos in cavendish cuts, made even more flavorful with the addition of our own exclusive formulation of natural chocolate and cocoa bean.
Notes: Reminiscent of Lane Ltd. CC5 blend. This was an Amar Blends Co. mixture. Cornell & Diehl bought the rights of all their old recipes.

My review may be taken with a grain of salt because as much as I've wanted to like burley blends, even topped blends, they tend to take like cigarettes to me. This isn't a reflection on the quality of the leaf or the blending but on my palette.
I like blends that contain burley which can be balanced with something else, but this kind of blend isn't my thing.
There is a delicate chocolate topping in the bag, but it is not overpowering. If you like light aromatics and burley, this might be a good one to try.

Shredded ribbons emit seemingly quality chocolate fudgy goodness, though lighting was a bit unusually difficult out of the can requiring several re-lights.
Cavendish tries in vain to mellow things out but fails. Could perhaps benefit from blending in equal-parts with Sutliff Black Cavendish.. but I'll resist.
Smokes incredibly harsh and dry-tasking if Borkum Riff made a chocolate blend. Not unlike eating a dry tablespoon full of baker's chocolate powder with shredded cork dust and then someone stabs you with a rounded spoon between your ribs.
Very unpleasantly rough compared to Sutliff's Chocolate Supreme or Boswell's Chocolate Creme which are sublime. This leaves a nasty aftertaste of dry chalky cocoa as well. Strong pipe ghosting and lingering aftertaste for 12 hours.
This is not a lost cause. I suspect it will mellow, blend, and improve in 10 years. Letting cellar until then. I have yet to find a C&D that's any good.
Burnt baker's chocolate cocoa powder, burnt tires & cork-board.
