This is a classic burley plug cut, and it the most pure of it's type I have ever smoked. A couple other popular ones are cased or topped, although they don't say they are. This one has little, if anything on it, just pure burley flavor. I have smoked almost two pounds of this stuff, so I obviously like it. It does come very dry, so I give it a light mist of distilled water before jarring it. This brings out a good bit more flavor than when smoked dry. As others mentioned, dribble it in, then I tamp it lightly at the top. It does take a minute to get going, but stays lit pretty well for me. Medium strengh, full bodied, and not excessive nic content for me. Pleasant old timey room note. It does heat up a bit toward the bottom third, but it can be managed. If you really like pure burley, this is one of the best.

C&D is not known as a Burley house, but it has some really fine Burley blends. No top flavor detected, just good Burley flavor. If you are a Burley guy, like me, you will like this -- IF you like cube cut. Gravity fill with a minimum of tamping, if any. A little tough to light as with all cubes, but worth it. Nice billows of rich, textured smoke.
Don't like cube cut? Then run this through a coffee grinder or food chopper. Just hit the blend button a couple of times quickly... you don't want tobacco meal. This makes it easier to pack and light, and keep lit. As with all Burleys, you don't want it too dry; a wee bit of moisture brings out the great Burley flavor. Breathing into the bowl 4 or 5 times and waiting a few minutes may be all it needs. This probably was intended as a blending tobacco, but Burley guys will like it.
If you are NOT a Burley guy, why bother trying or reviewing it? You probably won't like it, will find it one-dimensional, etc.
