Pleasant but unexciting. Of course, occasionally this is precisely what a piper craves. But only occasionally.

In the tin this blend smells lightly of dried figs and a touch of brown sugar. The room note is mainly Virginia with a slight added sweetness. People who love tobacco will find the room note very pleasant, others will find it tolerable.

The taste is extremely light. The best taste description I can come up with is light Virginia combined with bland herbs, a small sprinkle of pepper and just the tiniest tad of sweetness.

My guess is that pipers who prefer medium to full tasting tobaccos will find this blend far too bland. Pipers who prefer mild tobaccos will probably enjoy this blend when in the mood for a very gentle tobacco that is not heavily cased.

For me, this is a very mediocre smoke. You have to love aromatics to be able to enjoy this stuff. Personally, I like a good aromatic every now and then but this one, I'm having problems finishing the tin.

Upon opening said tin, you're greeted with a sweet, caramel like aroma. This blend is heavy on the Black Cavendish so yes it's smooth but, it doesn't really taste of anything in particular. It's sweet, smooth and.. pretty much tasteless. I don't really see any point in smoking this, unless you really like mediocre aromatics.

I would advise to use it in a dedicated aromatic pipe as it will leave a ghost behind which of course, isn't recommended.

Don't know how to end this review. While not bad, not really anywhere near good, either. Try it if you're.. extremely bored I guess.

Very mild aromatic from davidoff. Nothing exceptional, but good quality and an all day smoke. Good as a beginners tobacco. Very nice room note too, so non smokers wont be offended.

Davidoff - Blue Mixture.

Another retype of an early review.

Blue Mixture's presented as quite a dark brown with some sporadic yellow flecks. Sadly it includes a couple of twigs; the lighter coloured pieces are more twiggy. It's a touch damp and smells of maple and fruit.

The tobaccos taste quite well balanced with one another. The added flavourings are faint throughout a bowl, with the strongest addition being the sweetness. The taste is mild and relaxed, it's only when I really decipher the smoke I pick up on a slightly fresh flavour of pine/herbs. Vanilla underscores the whole experience. A problem occurs if the smoke gets in my eyes: tear gas!

Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.

Blue Mixture? It's an alright smoke however the price is way too high. Two stars:

Somewhat recommended.

Bought on a whim after reading good reviews elsewhere (never again) and hoping on a sort of easy to smoke, summery & debonair tobacco. Well, not too far from this concept, IMO this is just the classy rendition of Borkum Riff Original: less vanilla (read chemical), a bit more tang and better burning qualities. Not bad but too light, wispy, ethereal..... definitely it doesn't worth the money.

Out of the tin you get the promise of fudge and marshmallow aromas. Once lit, it leans more towards vanilla, albeit very faint.

It smokes cool and tends to become slighly gurgly towards the end. The strength seems to increase slightly when smoked in a larger bowl but does not develop any complexity.

If you are looking for smoke that smells great but does not demand anything from your taste buds, than this will do nicely.

The aromas upon opening the tin are fantastic, unfortunately they don't come through when smoking the tobacco.

The first few bowls were very enjoyable, but this tobacco dries very quickly and if you don't smoke on a regular basis, you will find it gets worse as it 'matures'.

I would only recommend it to beginners of pipe smoking.

This is a re-review of the tobacco 7-8 months aged in a jar. When I open the jar, the aroma is very pleasant, similar to what I experienced from the fresh tin many months ago. The tobacco has a medium ribbon cut, it does not need any drying time, though you can try to smoke it directly from the tin/jar or playing little with the drying time which might affect little the re-light times. The smoke is not very wet but it does need more than an average number of relights. It has similar constituents with Davidoff green, but it seems to be milder in terms of strength and somewhat “more aromatic”, but the differences are small though. The black cavendish leads, and it gives a very creamy and sweet light smoke. It is consistent throughout the bowl and it burns cool with no chance of bite even if you try it in non-filter pipes. If you are an aromatic lover, you can try it in medium and large bowls, e.g., savinelli 614, 320 KS, 611 KS/EX, 111 KS. Perhaps it can perform well in some Peterson and definitely in corn cobs. It can be, similar to Davidoff Green Mix, one of the recommended tobaccos for new pipe smokers, if you direct your interest into aromatics, at least it does worth as a mild, sweet and creamy good quality blend to try a tin and you see in the process if you would continue with more tins purchase. For me it would be a 2 and half star blend, rounded to 2 starts, but i do think that for aromatic lovers this can be easily a 3-star blend, thus, it is recommended as an aromatic, say in a semi-rotation fashion.

I appreciate the ready rub cut. I find the thickness creates a good burn, and (at least mentally) the pre crumble rub helps freshen things up (as one would rub fresh herbs in cooking), but how does it smoke?

The tin aroma is just OK, with a kind of sour/bitter cocoa smell. Think more dark than milk chocolate here, with a musty dusting for good measure. Like a good sprinter, the first puff is quite tasty, but things taper off quickly, spending most of your time with a bland, almost bitter vaper. Being that this is one of the easiest Aromatic flavors to get right (there are plenty of good chocolates {ie. Lane's 1Q}), I was fairly bummed out.

Having no chemical taste saved it slightly, but if it wasn't for the great cut, it would be a 1.5 star for me.

unless you are a die hard aromatic smoker...one who likes a heavily coated danish style smoke, this isnt for you. its fine for what it is, and there are certainly worse versions of this one the market. In fact this is likely better than most. But its just too sweeet if you smoke a pipe for tobacco taste./
