The reason for the high recommendation is because this is an excellent alternative to the more expensive and less available Dunhill mixtures. I just bought to pouches in a Madrid general tobacco store. I saw it in other several outfits. However, I only could find Dunhill products at the tobacco store in El Corte Ingles. I find this mixture as an agreeable way to start the day.

If you like Dunhill London Mixture, and if you're on a budget, this is a great substitute. Believe me when I say this is not bad at all and with the advantage of being A LOT cheaper.

This blend lives up to its name. It's a stout mixture that is reminiscent of some rustic London Pub. It's fairly strong on the Latakia. It's no Pirate Kake but the Latakia is always at the forefront, to the point that it dries out my mouth and I can only smoke it with a beverage at the side. Smokey, dry, leathery tones slightly offset by floral orientals and some Virginia sweetness. For me, I wish the offset were stronger but I guess that would destroy what this blend wants to be. I have difficulties keeping it lit. But when it is, smoke is plentiful. I don't enjoy the retrohale, it's just too much. Flavor profile is consistent throughout the bowl.
2.5 stars - it's a situational smoke, at least for me.

This Stanislaw mixture is a very nice introduction to a more full bodied, oriental tobacco blend. Without being too strong due to the Virginia, the tobacco is more complex and spicy. Burns just right, has a tolerable aroma, and fits the bill when your in the mood for the specific taste.
