Seattle Pipe Club Mississippi River
(3.21)
Mississippi River ~ actually appeared to Master Blender Joe Lankford in a dream. Awakened from a sound sleep he grabbed a pencil and scribbled a recipe before the memory faded. The next morning he used those notes to create a Virginia blend like no other. Mississippi River was born. The rest is history in a tin. Enjoy the rich Virginias pressed in cakes with Oriental leaf, a pinch of Latakia and perique. Exceedingly popular with good reason. Crafting the most sought after small batch blends in America since 2007.
Notes: Smooth, creamy, rich, lightly smoky and appropriately sweet, with hints of dried fruits and a touch of dark chocolate.

I was really intrigued to taste this tobacco and then... I'm kind of disappointed. It reminds me a lot of Shortcut to Mushrooms but a little more subtle on aroma. So for me this tobacco is definitely aromatic. And latakia aromatics are very special mixtures, they have to be just right otherwise they are terrible. This one is not terrible, but nothing special. I can feel chemical taste as well. So for me - just passable. Have a lot of more serious tobaccos.

Not so bad as a VP blend. Smooth somehow bored. Can't taste Latakia, only slight hint. Very smoky. Left gunky things in the bowl. Highly casing of sugar?

I guess I’m weird, because I’m not a fan. It’s ok, I just don’t get a lot of flavor. I’ll put away a can to try in 5 years, but I just don’t get the hype.
