Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding

Smokes easy. I have best results letting it dry for an hour or more. The tin note is okay but where this really shines is the decent aroma when smoking. Not much in the flavor department but enough spice to keep one interested. No tongue bite and only a mild hit of nicotine. Not a perfect one for me, but more than deserving of a spot in the rotation. Highly recommended if you have not tried it..

This is one of the first 10 blends I bought as I prepared to enter my pipe journey. Being inexperienced the first time I tried it and having no clue what English/Balkan blend meant - I remember my first puffs to this day. Wow, this is different - but something cigars never gave me.

I get a floral, herby taste with a bit of woodsy, smokey, and earthy goodness. Can’t say I’ve found the sweetness others describe, but it is a sweet spot and I savor the retrohale.

This is quite tricky to prepare as several have mentioned it can turn to dust. I find myself trying different ways almost every time I get it ready. Moisture is fine out of the tin or after drying a little. I’ve noticed no difference in taste either way. The dust is helpful to use for lighting purposes though...but, try not to get too much of it. Sometimes I have trouble keeping lit, but it’s certainly my fault.

As much as I like this one, I don’t smoke it as often as I’d like because I’m trying too many different blends. However, this one has earned its way to my list of growing blends I stock up on in the cellar. Look forward to years of smoking pleasure with this one. I still have some of the tobacco from the original tin I purchased, and hope to someday finally smoke the last bowl from it - but, I’m not in a hurry. I have plenty more! Kudos to its creator and many thanks.

This blend is truly special. It's quite difficult to get hold of here in the UK so I was eager to try it. When I opened the tin, I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the tobacco. It comes in large, crumbly chunks and hits you with the most incredible aroma. The tin nose is a spicy, sweet wonderland with hints of leathery latakia. I loaded my cob and immediately was hit by a delicious melding of sweet virginia, balanced orientals and woody, earthy latakia. The smoke itself was plentiful and pleasant smelling. It also did not need any relights. This blend left a very pleasant aftertaste and burnt all the way down to a clean, grey ash - leaving no dottle behind. The taste of Plum Pudding is well documented and famously unique, a sentiment I share. If you are looking for a delicious blend that is like no other, this may be it.

Presentation is a nice loose cake. Tin note is wood smoke, spicy and raisins or fig, Barnyard. I can taste each tobacco in this. For me the Turkish orientals are just slightly behind the Latakia and Virginia. Each puff deep wood smoke, a bit of sour mixed with a slight spice and fruit. This one is totally unique and a real treat to smoke. Excellent with a good stout dark beer.

Is this a Balkan? I guess so.

The Latakia and black cavendish form a cohesive creamy foundation to this crumble cake. The cedar-like smokiness is the leading flavor followed by the spicy/sour oriental tobacco. The perique provides a slight fermented cigar undertone. Overall, Plum Pudding is a mellow Balkan blend. I see why people like it. I would give it four star if it did not tend to scorch my tongue.

It’s not an easy blend. The combination between Latakia, Perique, Virginia, Orientels, and Cavindesh, is so accurate. They all get together to make a delicious complicated nice mixture. Love it!

The cyprian latakia and perique give most of the flavor. Not quite enough latakia to call it a bomb but it has some bomb properties due to the dominance of the latakia Starts off nice and sweet and slowly develops into a nice bbq esque English. Strong herbal and floral notes (mostly a rosemary) throughout the smoke. This is what I taste, at least. A very nice smoke to retrohale

Give it time to dry it you are going to be relighting a lot. I have not had the special reserve yet, (most pipers I follow prefer the special reserve) but i am happy with this one. Not the greatest Balkan in the world but worth a try. Tin art is 10/10
