I am a new pipe smoker. I smoked a bowl of this tobacco yesterday. I had been smoking some higher end tobaccos and a gentleman shared this with me at the smoking lounge. I noticed throughout the smoke the difference between the nicer tobaccos I had smoked and this. There was very little sweetness or flavor. I felt a harshness when I took a draw, especially towards the bottom of the bowl. After I finished, I immediately wanted to smoke some of the other blend I had so I could taste something good again. I guess some would call this an every day smoke. I equate it with lite beer, it'll get the job done, but if you enjoy strong coffee and fancy beer, get yourself something nice.

I bought a pouch of this to split with a friend who swears by it (despite my own general avoidance of aromatics). When the pouch was first opened there was a vanilla/sweet smell to it which was very enjoyable. The tobacco packed well, and didn't need much tamping or attention to keep lit. The smoke was very sweet, and mellow, however there was a bit of a harshness to it, and I did get a bit of tongue bite if I used a non-filtered pipe with it. I smoked it in various areas, and never once had a complaint about the smell, everyone (including the nonsmokers) were pleased with the smell. Overall I found it a pleasant smoke, but the harshness could be off putting. A pipe with a Brigham filter works wonders on this tobacco.
