Benjamin Hartwell Evening Stroll

(2.93)
Mild and flavorful - Benjamin Hartwell's friend, Jim Murdoch, was a real dandy, always dressed in the most fashionable styles of his day. He preferred his pipe tobaccos mild and with a hint of sweetness to please the women as he walked by. Ben made his blend for Jim and called it Evening Stroll.

Wow this stuff smells good, both in the tin and in the room note. Very similar to Ashton Old Church, it has an indecipherable blend of aromatic agents, presented in a very moist, sticky state. It can bite, and it can be quite bland, but I would recommend trying it in a wide bulldog before you reach any final conclusions.

I don't know if I would buy another tin of this. Probably not, but I get raves from total strangers on the street, most of them women who say that the smell reminds them of some favorite uncle's/grandfather's/father's leather-lined library. Mixing in a bit of blending Oriental leaf from McClelland or Vegas Smokes adds a nice dimension without much impact on the room note.
